John Varvatos

John Varvatos is an American fashion designer with Greek roots who was born in 1955. As a teenager, Varvatos was quite fond of the fashion style of the 70s. He was therefore constantly trying to imitate the look of his idols. After college, he opened his first boutique, which sold mainly the latest designs of "Polo Ralph Lauren". It came in 1983 to collaborate with "Polo Ralph Lauren", but also with "Calvin Klein" (1990) and "London Fog" (1995). In 1999, John Varvatos finally founded his fashion and fragrance brand. His first men's collection followed a year later and was highly applauded by the press, experts, and the public altogether.

The designs and drafts in the house of John Varvatos are created without exception by Varvatos himself. However, the owner is also repeatedly active for other brands. For example, he created the legendary Nautica jeans. For this and many other works, John Varvatos was awarded numerous fashion prizes.

In the new millennium, the brand expanded its product range. This was followed by sports shoes (2001), women's fashion (2004), and sportswear, sunglasses, and watches (2006). Many of the collections and series existed only a few years and were then discontinued. Except for the women's fragrances, John Varvatos is thus a men's label with occasional forays outside of high-end apparel. For this, Varvatos has remained true to his line and creates masculine fashion with many details and accessories. His fans also include, for example, Alice Cooper, ZZ Top, Iggy Pop, and Kiss.
