Floral Fields of Ireland 4711 2019

You have to give 4711 credit if they really market "Floral Fields of Ireland" as unisex. I believe the color and display in stores speak against it, but the mere fact that the entire line is presented as gender-neutral on paper is remarkable. Especially for a brand with this rather old-fashioned reputation. But anyone who knows the latest fragrances and has had them under their nose knows that the days of "grandma scent," "medieval citrus," and the like are long gone...

These Irish flower fields (which, to be fair, could also be conceivable in the Lower Rhine) are no exception. Despite their initially somewhat cloying and stale aura. But this might just seem worse to me personally, as my strong aversion to osmanthus and jasmine is far from completely overcome. These light florals are simply not my thing. And yet, "Floral Fields of Ireland" is, despite this Leimbacher-specific crow's foot, a more than respectable scent.

Quite powdery, almost dusty, but never stale. Fresh enough, with a hissing background. Summery and sunny. Mother's Day feeling. But is it a "grandma scent," just from tomorrow? Or for Zoomers? No, no, no. It is well made across the board. Lilac might be a bit too dominant. But never even slightly musty. Green to rosy. Not too synthetic for me either. For the price, it's top-notch anyway. So, for floral-inclined ladies, it's certainly fertile ground.

Bottle: beautiful color, really great overall, even independent of the price.
Sillage: seems cloying, becomes calmer
Longevity: not a strong suit of the brand or line, but at this price, almost secondary - 5 hours max.

Conclusion: a flower-rich whirlwind at eye - almost ground level - neither mine nor my wife's, but overall a lively wallflower bomb. If that makes sense.
