Buongiorno Acqua di Parma 2025

Absolute banger!

This is a very uplifting, green, fresh, mouthwatering summer perfume.
A mix of basil, mint and petit grain with a similar Fico di Amalfi / Arancia's typical adp base.

Maybe a Torino 21 killer? For me yes, as i can't stand hard synthetics and this one is much more natural and refined.

On point!

Buongiorno opens with a kitchen-y blast of basil and rosemary, alongside citruses, notably lemon. Basil and rosemary are listed but I get very realistic vegetal notes, as if I'm in an Italian kitchen during prep. Then it kind of skips over the heart and goes straight into the simplistic musky drydown. It kind of reminds me of Aqua Media Cologne Forte but Aqua Media is not as vegetal, even with its fennel note, and it's smoothed out a bit from the matcha. Same musky drydown though. It's just meh, as have been most of my experiences with this brand.

It seems Buongiorno does not belong to any series Acqua di Parma is known for, but is rather promoted as a sunny perfume standing on its own two feet, celebrating the arrival of the Tuscan spring and coming in edp concentration.

The first thing I would say after this perfume greets me "Good morning" is a slightly hesitant "How do you do". It is a bright opening indeed, but I find the brightness to be a bit muddled. The top is like an unsuccessful mix of Fico di Amalfi and Mandarino di Sicilia from the Blu Mediterraneo line where the woody and elegant fig and the fresh, green mandarin both loses out. I am reminded of Xerjoff's summer scents that I do not really care for. Most high end brands have the weakness that whilst being onto something interesting, they sometimes cover up the artistic outset under thick layers of talcum in order to obtain the nod of approval from an imaginary (or real) Nan or Aunt Primrose.

In brief, I think it is a departure from the AdPs I have tried that Demachy was behind. They started out bright but mostly developed nicely into something woody with green spices and herbs to support. Apart from Demachy's creations, I find that AdP has often struggled with the later phases of their scents, and Buongiorno is no exception. Good tenacity, but linear to the point where you get quite bored after a while. Occasionally what remains from the top smells like a high end version of nameless (and countless) ladies' scents from the early 1990s over a masculine white musk. This effect is much like Essenza's fantastic opening slowly evolving into smelling more and more like the generic white soap bars that smelled the same all over continental Europe cirka 1993. Absolutely not worth the retail price, but not off putting either.

When I first tried this, I thought... this is Torino 21, but no! It's better!
A citrusy, minty fragrance with a sweet, ambery finish.
It's now one of the must-haves in my spring/summer collection.
Elegant yet casual.
It brightens my day and puts a smile on my face.
Fresh, invigorating... Definitely try it.

The way it remains citrussy minty, the mojito vibe. Excellent nose. A great masculine leaning performant ..... eau de cologne.
Acqua di Parma is a brand of (Ed)Colognes and this one shines. Beautiful, natural, juicy. Alive. Smells like a top Eco-label.

Alas not an EdP performance.
Pure nose wise this is so much better than the other mojito vibes. But it needs a lot or respraying.
Heart: yes, wallet: less. Dear soul of Acqua di Parma: I love you, but you leave so soon.
