Very Nice for the Price Point
Miss AP is my first Agent Provocateur fragrance. It is very nice for the grey market price point. It is much better than a lot of celebrity scents and other fragrances I have smelt in this price range. I do not find it particularly unique, but it is the type of fragrance that would easily garner compliments.

To my nose, Miss AP is a predominantly pachouli scent. I detect some pink pepper, but I do not detect specific florals such as ylang-ylang which is one of my favourite floral notes. Vanilla is not a listed noted, but I detect a bit of vanilla in the deep dry down. Overall, it is a spicy, warm, powdery, feminine fragrance that patchouli lovers undoubtedly will enjoy. I would classify it as an Oriental.

This perfume is probably best left for evening and leisure wear. Miss AP is said by some to be a reformulation of L'agent. I have never smelt L'agent, so I cannot reliably comment on how similar they are or not, but I can tell you I detect zero incense in Miss AP, and judging by L'agent reviews, I speculate that Miss AP and L'agent may be distant cousins at best.

Miss AP is not at all challenging to wear in my opinion, so if you find the notes appealing, and if you like lightly spicy, powdery Orientals, I deem it a reasonably safe blind buy.

Performance is reasonably good. It does not project very far, but longevity is excellent at 12+ hours on my skin.

Come as you are

"Come as you are, as you were..."
Hey, this is floral, with a note that I perceive as somewhat retro and with rose.

"...As I want you to be..."
Oh, I somehow remember old, calmer times when I was more with myself and less with others or with tasks to be done.

"...As a friend, as a friend..."
Being a friend to myself, but also being completely myself among friends.

"...As an old enemy..."
Geranium is sometimes a bit depressing for me, but here it is modernly integrated, somewhat bitter with an edge.

"...Take your time, hurry up..."
I have to be careful not to lose scent notes because I adapt to them too quickly. I notice this already on the second wear and later it confirms itself. After a break of a few days, I perceive the scent much more intensely again.

"...Choice is yours, don't be late..."
Actually, I want to wear it every day.

"...Take a rest as a friend..."
It has become such a friend to me, but I need to take a break, otherwise I won’t notice it anymore.

"...As an old memoria..."
The scent reminds me of the song by Nirvana, Kurt Cobain, and an old study buddy with whom I often listened to this song, and with whom the phrase "Come as you are" became a catchphrase.

"...Come doused in mud..."
The scent has something dirty underneath as well, otherwise it wouldn’t be able to live up to its name of Agent Provocateur.

"...Soaked in bleach..."
The pepper gives it a somewhat artificial bleach quality and washes the dirt to a bearable level.

"...As I want you to be..."
I can now decide what I want to sniff out, luscious ylang-ylang, bleaching pepper, sad geranium, a hint of hippie patchouli, the roses of old ladies, soothing amber.

"...As a trend, as a friend..."
My personal trend is back to the roots, no matter what the trend is right now, my trend goes to myself.

"...As an old memoria..."
To my past.

"...And I swear that I don't have a gun..."
Yes, I also have a few Juliette has a Guns.

"...No, I don't have a gun..."
Yes!
"...No, I don't have a gun..."
Yes!!
"...No, I don't have a gun..."

And Kurt Cobain had one too.
Unfortunately.

"Black Powder"!
No, I don't mean what you fill old antique firearms with! I mean a scent that smells very dark and powdery. At the beginning, there is the pepper. And it announces the "bass" notes that will follow soon. Still quiet, dressed in rosy notes, carrying something sweeter, the flower of flowers in terms of perfume. Ylang Ylang, dusty, slightly frivolous, almost rebellious. But before the scent drifts into sweetness, dark tones thump again, amplified like through a subwoofer! All the aromas that woods have to offer. Milky-soft sandalwood, dusty-earthy patchouli, moist-aromatic amberwood, not at all grumpy, but rather mystical myrrh, and a little incense as a balsamic surprise. Together, this creates the dark, but not gloomy impression of Miss AP. Kajal-rimmed eyes in an "Egyptian," classic face. A Pharaoh or a Pharaoh's wife. Sphinx-like and mysterious.
The longer the scent lingers on the skin, the more the dark-spicy-powdery impression increases. "Black Powder" meets fine desert sand. An oasis not far away.
An oasis for lovers of oriental-powdery and rather unsweet scents!

No Crowd Pleaser
I was curious because of the polarizing comments, and it is indeed that... Presumably a successor to L'agent, which I don't know. Sorry to all the lovers of this fragrance, don't take it as criticism of the scent, just my personal subjective impression. For my nose, there is not only positive to report. The beginning and the end are unpleasant for me and make me want to run away, as they evoke negative associations for me personally. However, the middle is very mysterious and interesting. Very dark, somewhat rosy (but not a fresh rose, dark red), I also hear slight red wine accords throughout the composition. Very unusual and exquisite.
I don't know what to do with this fragrance.

Dark roses and cold churches. Smells more expensive than it is, however, quite a bit retro so a blind buy is not recommended.

The Miss is not girlish at all with her floral-spicy, dark-powdery, and sandy charm, but rather confident, grown-up...

Peppered iris root
Soapy-spicy flowers
on geranium cream,
more clove than ylang
Surprisingly classic,
not sweet & mature

Different than expected from the brand. More mature, lush floral, slightly soapy with a spicy sandalwood base. Reminds me of scents from the 80s.

KN: Ylang has a lot of spice in its step..
HN:..during a dirty-hot flirt between roses & thorns..
B:..that leaves the earth smoky and woody afterwards.

Starts with ylang-ylang. Later, powder and classic adult flowers in abundance. I also smell spicy notes, clove and/or cinnamon.

With plenty of spice in tow, flowers in the heart, and resins and woods as a base, this scent seriously competes with some well-stocked bazaars!

Uncomplicated, floral, cheerful with a mild animalic touch like Mad Madame. Not your typical rose-patchouli scent, but spicier, dirtier, better.

If "the you-know-which note" bothered you in L'Agent u.AP: I think it's completely missing here. For me, it tops the top agents!
