Detergent soapy smell with potential

After lurking here for a couple of years I finally came around to write my first review. Here goes..

The opening is quite harsh and strong, akin to a detergent or cleaning product.
There is a prominent note or accord that stays through the whole wearing of the scent that I can't really identify. Almost like old rubber. It might be the oakmoss and carnation.

The late dry down is somewhat similar to the dry down of Drakkar Noir when I think about it (the old rubber thing..).
Sung Homme is a lot harsher than Drakkar Noir though. Drakkar is also much more balanced and shower gel like, airy, whereas Sung Homme is more detergent/soap like.

Since it is not sweet I also can also see that it is a liiitle bit like Paco Rabanne pour homme. However, I think that PRPH is a better soapy smell than Sung.

The scent does feel a bit "old" but I think it has to do with the fact that it doesn't have all the popular molecules of today. It is not sweet which I love. I would have liked it a bit more soapy but that accord I mention somewhat covers what would have given it a higher score.

The projection and sillage seems to be really good given the excellent price.
First time I wore it on my arm it seemed to disappear quite fast but after ten minutes it came back strong which tells me that this is quite a potent fragrance.

I come to think of another fragrance that came out in the same year - JOOP! homme. Not that it smells anything like it, but the performance and unapologetic projection of the scent is similar. Also, JOOP! has a certain strong note that pierces through everything.

I don't love it yet, but I think it will grow on me.
