Luxurious, Powerful
One of my favorites.

Wood meets light sweetness.

I don't even know how to describe it, for me this is a very, very beautiful, powerful, spicy fragrance. It lingers for a long time and can knock people off their feet.

The person who wears it:
Elegant woman, with expensive taste. She comes from "old money" and knows exactly what she wants. She is disgusted by the usual luxury brands and luxury items, which have become tasteless and generic. She has a refined taste for fashion and aesthetics. Wears dark, thick and long fabrics...

For me, an absolute dream fragrance, for nights when I want to embody the image of the "elegant, self-confident woman".

It gets better with time…
Again and again in recent months I crept in the department store around Amouage fragrances. The flacons appealed to me by their unique design and massive weight but unfortunately could not convince me in the "quick testing" - partly on paper, but also on skin. Something always did not fit, sometimes I even found them unpleasant.
Nevertheless, I wanted to give Amouage another chance, this time without shopping stress and the possible olfactory overload with felt 30 other fragrances within a short time.
Finally, I got hold of a sample of "Crimson Rocks" a few weeks ago.
My expectations for the fragrance were relatively high. I promised myself a sweet-floral Big Red bubble gum in a bottle. Cinnamon gum is now perhaps not exactly the noblest fragrance you can imagine, but the combination of cinnamon and rose seemed very tempting to me purely from the notes.

So I distributed 5 sprays and got first a thick load of pink pepper off, pungent unpleasant just in the direct combination with the cinnamon. Okay, clearly the top note should not hold forever, but somehow I felt not quite comfortable with it...anyway, I have to go through now.
Distracted by some meetings, the scent had time to say goodbye to its annoying top note and evolved into a warm and velvety cinnamon and honey blend with a hint of rose. Just what I needed on a day like this, gray and cold.
So I can say that I don't regret buying this sample. Almost certainly I haven't smelled something similar lately, but do I need "Crimson Rocks" as a fullsize? No, at this price, the scent has to deliver exactly what I like from start to drydown. I use my few milliliters when I want that certain dose of cinnamon again.

1988 rocks!
1988: Her friend had borrowed her parents' Fiat and now she was driving on the country road to the music pub in the next village over. She drove a little uncertainly, the driving license was new, the route too. Finally she could be part of what the others were always talking about! It didn't matter now that the band was unknown to her. If she didn't like it, then one could also change to the disco room.
The building looked quite different from the outside than expected. It did have a thatched roof and was covered with lush, red climbing roses. It looked like an old farm, no, smaller, more like a farmhand's cottage. Outside, the typical uncomfortable folding chairs of weathered wood and rusted iron, and round tables, also wooden. But of course they went inside immediately, they had no money for beer and outside in an enchanted, overgrown herb garden only the old people sat anyway, those who were already approaching 30.

Although a large proportion of the guests were smokers, it didn't smell like it at all. Firstly, the cottage was rather airy and secondly, there were large areas where smoking was prohibited for safety reasons. The people also adhered to it, because they knew the problems of the owner to be allowed to run a music pub here at all, loud, under thatch, on'm village.

As soon as they arrived, it started: The house band was called Crimson and played rock. This appealed to her in the first moment actually not so much, she was actually more on progressive music, but this band had that certain something, here the composition was right, catchy, but with surprising twists, presented with drive and verve. In addition, the atmosphere of the thatched house, cozy, warm, natural and the mood of the guests, cordial, relaxed and good-humored.
They began to dance, sinking into the music and the mood. By the time the band took a break, it was late. After the second set, they clapped several encores. They didn't go back until the next morning. It was already light out.
The drive had been worth it.
The scent of lush dark red climbing roses mingling with the cinnamon of the chai served, with savory and lovage of the herb garden, then the wood of the old parquet and thatched roof truss, a hint of smoke - she had it all in her nose for hours and hours to come. Only in the course of the next day did the last of the wood fade away.

They had long since agreed to go there again the next weekend.

It’s fine, but it’s not Amouage. No frankincense. Nothing unique. Sultan Qaboos is rolling in his grave.

Well-blended open that dries to a honey-cinnamon scent, with an elegant & vocal rose background as it dries. Unisex, slightly feminine.

Spicy sweet rose to open with a rich cedar base. The honey smooths things over and brings it together. Dry down is VERY similar to Layton.

Intoxicating woody drydown! Opens with spicy gourmand accords, then gets more floral with slightly jammy rose. A must-try for roselovers.
