Decision 42 Amouage 2026

I was already in love with the unique DNA of decision. My only problem with decision was that it seemed to lean ever so slightly feminine in my opinion. Decision 42 fixed that for me. It has a similar sharpness that I find in purpose 50 that is combined with the smoothness of decision. More electrifying!

In my opinion versatility has also been improved. While more dense, it still has a freshness to it in the opening. Definitely more spice, which I love. More rugged, less smooth. Performance is insane, 2 sprays is probably all you need. DEFINITELY NOT A SAFE BLIND BUY. It is a unique profile.

Decision 42 is the significantly darker and smokier interpretation of the original Decision and it is precisely this contrast that makes the fragrance so exciting for me.

Decision opens bright, fresh and spicy. A fragrance between light, clarity and warmth.

Decision 42 takes exactly this DNA and continues turning it toward the dark. The opening feels more radiant, slightly spicier and simply more multifaceted. In the heart, it then becomes significantly smokier, almost mystical. And this is precisely where I find the real idea behind Decision 42. An extrait does not simply have to become denser, sweeter and heavier. Instead, Amouage seems to let the fragrance begin even brighter and more radiant before, as it develops, it increasingly retreats into its woody, resinous warmth.

What I find particularly mystical in the heart is the interplay of incense and myrrh, which lend the fragrance a darker and rougher dimension, while sandalwood, cedar and vanilla prevent the composition from becoming completely heavy. This creates a very exciting contrast. A brighter opening against a dark development.

For me, this is precisely the strength of the new Decision 42. It does not feel like a mere more intense version, but rather like the further development of a true masterpiece with the same idea, only with more shadow here. A remarkably interesting concept.

The bottle and packaging, as always, a 10/10, performance incredibly intense, the price is debatable. But for me, it is an absolute must-have from Amouage. This character, with its depth and development, should be experienced on your own skin.
