A confection

Love Delight is sweet and airy and unlike any of the Amouage fragrances I've tried. The top notes were a sweet orange with rose water and a hint of ginger, then a jammy rose emerged. Finally, a bright grassy scent pierced through the sweetness. After a couple hours, all I get are orange and vanilla, like a Creamsicle. Love Delight is enjoyable but a little lacking in complexity for me. I prefer big incensy ambers with animalic notes over anything gourmand adjacent.

Edited to add: Trying this again in warmer weather, I appreciate it so much more. The florals are popping more, and although the orange, vanilla, and cocoa make it gourmand adjacent, it is still interesting and not too over the top for me. So what if it's simpler than old-school Amouage. Sometimes on a warm day you just want to smell like a really classy orange Creamsicle.

Not a typical Amouage scent, beautiful scent cloud

This short review is based on a sample. More detailed review will follow later after having a full bottle.

The other day I sprayed this one a lot in my arms. The scent was nothing special - nice but not any wow effect. The day after I was wondering what a beautiful intoxicating whiff was lingering in the air. I realised that it came from the little sample bottle which has been leaking out.

Beautifully hazy, powdery, sweet aroma like a sugar dust with gentle spices, Vanilla, Rum and Cacao. Absolutely attractive and indulgent! The scent around you is this kind of but it smells totally different close to the skin.

If my sample wouldn't have been leaking I think that I would never had experienced that beautiful part of Love Delight. I was so underwhelmed while sniffing my arm. This is not so recognisable Amouage, it could easily be from some other house as well. Nevertheless I think it fits well into Secret Garden Collection in which the perfumes are not so complex and they are more crowd pleasing than Amouage in overall. I'm curious to see how this performs during wintertime.

Beautiful opening, but the cypriol became too much

A hint of toasty cinnamon with some tang from ginger. A zest of mandarin with the sweetness of rosewater. Flowers are more subdued, subtle, elegant with the rose being the most prominent. She has a facet of fruitiness that pairs well with the powderiness of the heliotrope. There's a deep woody and green note that rises up which is probably the cypriol. Becomes at time a bit medicinal, almost reminiscient of sanitizer. Strong and at times a bit overpowering, it tempers down the spicy floral accord found at the beginning of the scent. Vanilla, cocoa and rum never got through the cypriol barrier. The drydown becomes this green, herbaceous, almost minty scent that crushed everything else.

At the beginning, it's a gentle, delicate perfume that leans quite feminine to my nose, but the cypriol turned into a villain here. Maybe it's my skin chemistry that brought it to the forefront of this fragrance, but I felt like it was off-balance and way too overpowering. I have the feeling I could probably find something better at a better price (especially for the beautiful top notes) which is the second reason why it won't be added to my collection.

Delightful

While there is a fair amount of creamy vanilla, we're not dealing with baked cookies. Although that is likely subject to change from person to person. There is a floral presence, but blossoms very warm and full bodied. Love Delight is sophisticated, but safe for Amouage. It's a fun fragrance that will be enjoyable for Spring and other seasons going forward, as it is versatile. Unlike Guidance, which is amazing but a cold-weather performer at best. I imagine anyone adding Love Delight to their collection, will find it easy to reach for. Don't be intimidated by cacao. It's there, but doesn't make the composition chocolaty in any way. I find that it provides a certain balance between bright florals and sweet vanilla. Ginger and cinnamon are so well blended, that it's not apparent that they are present. It seems that for every aggressive or spicy note, there is a softer or sweeter note to counter. I find that what I'm smelling perfectly reflects the aesthetics of the bottle. The color scheme speaks to a composition that is pleasant, bright, warm, floral and just sweet enough.

Beautiful Warm Spiced Floral with an Airy Cocoa Finish

This was instant love for me. Putting this on made me feel beautiful and warm like closing my eyes and turning my face to the sun. I imagine this being how a pretty woman smells who is confident, smiles at strangers, and gives the best hugs.

The opening is a smooth blend of citrus and cinnamon and gentle ginger. No sharp edges, just warmth and light sweetness. In the heart, the florals bloom and lean towards the white floral while remaining on the warm side. This heart phase lasts quite some time. The dry down is an airy cocoa laced with a lightly sweet vanilla. I don't typically like cocoa notes, this is an exception. All in all a lovely, well-composed warm floral.
