Sitting in a Rose Bed in a Cashmere Sweater and Snacking on Peaches
As far as I know, this fragrance is unfortunately no longer available. However, since I want to comment on all the fragrances in my collection one by one, today it’s this one’s turn.
British Touch is a very successful dupe of Burberry Body.
Right after spraying, it smells a bit strange-alcoholic for a moment, which could be attributed to the absinthe, as I also catch this note at the beginning of the original.
However, this strange note disappears after about 10 minutes. After that, I mainly smell rose and peaches, embedded in a large cloud of cashmeran and musk. Later, sandalwood joins in.
The fragrance actually smells very cozy, comfortable, and soft-creamy. I believe this comes from the cashmeran. And yes, it’s also somehow totally soft... I really feel like I’m wearing a thick, yet airy-light oversized cashmere sweater and sitting in a garden amidst a bed full of coral and rose-colored roses, snacking on juicy, ripe peaches.
Due to the rose, the peach, the musk, and the sandalwood, the scent slightly reminds me of Trésor, only I find Trésor sweeter and a bit “stingier.” British Touch is gentler, softer, and, in my opinion, more understated. I also perceive it as somewhat elegant due to its creaminess, and it can be worn well for serious occasions.
I don’t find it very sweet either; the peaches are somewhat tempered by the rose, the musk, and the cashmeran, so everything is well balanced. The sweetness I perceive reminds me, like with Trésor, of dextrose tablets (Dextro-Energy), just not as loud.
I really like the fragrance and will possibly repurchase the original once this one is empty.
Longevity and sillage are good.
I also find the fragrance suitable for any season.
Conclusion: A beautiful, soft, elegant, and cuddly rose-peach scent for snuggling or for more serious occasions that radiates a sense of security.
