from flame to fire to ember
Ah, even the "ingredient list" warms the heart while reading: What wonderfully aromatic treasures of the fragrance world have been gathered and skillfully crafted here.
“Fire by Fire” is a weave of spicy-warm and smoky-resinous scent elements, where interesting woody and also balsamic nuances have not been neglected.
The wide arc from the warm flame to the blazing ember has been stretched in such a way that curiosity and senses are stimulated, but not overwhelmed, which could easily happen given the variety of fragrance notes used.
Just the selection of spices, including ginger, cloves, and pepper, heats things up, and a sweet, resinous smoke develops through nagarmotha, known for its awakening, eroticizing, and yet balsamic effect, along with the proven labdanum with its spicy-earthy honey note, of course.
Here it is not: “No smoke without fire,” but rather the reverse: “No fire without smoke!”
This aromatic resinous-spicy and simultaneously balsamic smoke is further nourished by the addition of herbs and wood and ethereal-scented conifers; here it crackles and hisses vigorously.
Floral ylang-ylang and osmanthus flower aromas set bright lights that float like mist through the strong smoky darkness.
What a refined fragrance composition I encounter on my skin.
Anna Zworykina has succeeded in spanning the arc from warming fire to burning passion, from sweetness to spiciness and back to healing balsamic notes through her selection of precious ingredients.
No wood, no herb, no spice from this vast array of fragrance notes is superfluous; everything harmoniously comes together to provide rich and lasting sensual pleasures.
To quote Mr. Geheimrat Goethe: “Thus I stagger from desire to enjoyment, and in enjoyment I languish for desire,” to finally find my inner peace, protected and warmly embraced by the balsam, at a now peacefully flickering fire.
