“I never sing a song the same way twice” (Billie Holiday)

Man man man, Frau Neuffer. If you have no idea about jazz, the name of this perfume might initially seem too trendy / clichéd.

Hipster = Trend / Hepster = timeless masterpiece

I’m more of a rock type, but I also enjoy jazz, especially live. And this composition rocks much of what I have perceived olfactorily so far.

Through a swap, I unexpectedly got my hands on a tiny sample. Big enough, though, to test it thoroughly.

And it took my breath away after a long time.

What do I perceive, or what fascinates me so much about this scent?

First of all, the fragrance feels positively old-school and modern at the same time. There is no focus on current mass-produced items here. There’s no cardamom and oud in this one. You get it “straight in your face.” It practically screams: “I sh*** on conventions!”

The opening is incredibly powerful, spicy, slightly bitter and herbaceous. With the heart note, it becomes increasingly green, resinous, and woody, ultimately fading softly and earthy with moss and patchouli. The color “green” describes it best. A perfume that can evoke and transport feelings and emotions.

In my opinion, a product is all the more high-quality the less you can pick out individual components. The overall work is what matters. And that is the case here. The scent reminds me, both in its fragrance pyramid and in its development, of the good old perfumes from the 70s and 80s. Those fragrances also had a long fragrance pyramid, they were not made for the top note, and had a noticeable scent progression. With a bit more soap, you could easily place it 35 years back.

Longevity and sillage are fantastic. Simply perfectly balanced. Not too much, not annoying, not overwhelming. I’ve experienced something similar recently with “New York Intense” by Parfums de Nicolai. This is how I want it.

Unfortunately, I can’t say anything about the bottle, as I haven’t seen it live yet.

If you’re looking for something new, individual, classically masculine, and primarily high-quality, you should keep an eye on this one.

This is art at the highest level. High-quality down to the smallest detail.

A fragrance worth saving for. I’ve already started…

Best regards

I'm also in the process of discovering the Neuffer fragrances. My current favorite is **Ambra Luminosa**. But besides **Tabac Santal**, I already have more fragrances lined up to try.
