It is actually really good
This is reviewed after 1 week of wearing a newly opened bottle. I do not own a full bottle of Imagination but I have emptied a 6ml sample of the OG and It has become my favorite summer scent. Since my current bottle of Marwa hasn't macerated yet, take this review with a grain of salt. I will update this review in the future with a comparison to Bujairami Hectic which I'm trying to get my hands on.

Prior to receiving this bottle, I am not a fan of middle eastern clone houses. 3 Years ago I bought full bottles of popular clones like Club de Nuit Intense Man Eau de Toilette, Détour Noir , L'Aventure etc. Had to sell all of them, even after 2 years of macerating they all opened up with super synthetic smell which is remniscent of chemical warfare, burning my mucosa to a crips. On top of that the dry down were low quality while having ridiculous projection. Now I bought into the hype again after getting burned 100% of the time in the past.

Upon the first spray, this is amazing. It clearly tries to clone imagination. I could tell they use higher quality ingredients and I don't get any chemical warfare type of synthetics. It is a nice soapy fresh aquatic tea fragrance like the original. The vibe is 100% the same as Imagination. However, if you smell closer the is a somewhat notable difference.

The top notes are ridiculously close to the OG, soapy citrus fresh. Mid note starts to differentiate ever so slightly from the OG. IMO the tea note is not as present, and the neroli is not as photorealistic but more of a mixture that tries to imitate the neroli. To be fair, it is not written on the packaging. The base notes deviates the most from the OG, which IMO is somewhat noticeable. Marwa still has the aquatic ambroxan with slight clean musk but it also features a leathery animalic accord that reminds me of faint oud. It is 100% not oud but it gives the same animalic vibe. It is thick! You can find the same accord in other middle eastern houses like Amouage (not just limited to ME clone houses). Consequently, making Marwa not as airy as Imagination . This accord fades after 1h. But even after 1h you cannot pinpoint this note clearly but it still affects the dry down making it thicker and not as light and effervescent as the OG.

Also you can smell the higher quality of the ingredients, the superior blend, depth and complexity of the OG. I can seperate the different notes in Imagination more easily, since they are more photorealistic and not a soup of blend.

Projection-wise, Marwa is much louder and more "intense". Similar, to an Intense version of a fragrance. It is thicker and not as light airy and sincere as the OG. As of right now, the OG has much better longevity (this might change after macerating or I might just go noseblind on this due to the ambroxan overload). The OG last on my skin for 8h while Marwa becomes skin scent after 3h and last in total for 5h. EDIT: it has been 8h and after I showered I can still faintly detect it but only by pressing my nose against my wrist.

All in all, the vibe is the same. The scent is 92% similar. In the air it is probably indistinguishable to others. Only oneself can detect the difference. As a comparison, I think Club de Nuit Intense Man Eau de Toilette is about as 30% close to Aventus, and this is being generous.

And in terms of value, I got my bottle for 60€/100ml. It outclasses any designer in every single aspect except maybe quality of ingredients. Also the atomizer is super satisfying to use since its pressurized but it's not opaque so I cannot see how much is left.

I am thoroughly impressed and happy with my purchase, definitely a keeper. I expect Marwa to become even smoother after maceration. And I will give middle eastern clone houses another try!

HOLY IMAGINATION, BATMAN!!!
Jumpin' Jesus, this one is SUPER close to the OG. Can't recommend picking this one up enough, there are samples available if you are skeptical.

Let me start by saying I am a nurse who works bedside in a hospital. I can't really wear most of my collection there as it has to be subtle and NOT offensive for the sake of being professional. I could technically get in trouble and nursing is stressful enough. Anyway...

Imagination is the perfect DNA as it just smells like you have a great hygiene regimen and know how to take care of yourself; like you just lathered yourself in luxury bath soap. Like an expensive hotel lobby. Very soothing, clean, musky, charismatic, watery and alluring. However, I do not want to spend that much on a fragrance. The hunt for a suitable replacement at a reasonable price ensues.

So, I have owned or tested a few of the Imagination clones, particularly Game of Spades Fullhouse . While I really liked that one and just finished the bottle this month, it is not as close as I once thought. It is sweeter and doesn't get the tea aspect nearly as well. It did make me smell clean though which I appreciated. The life of the fragrance did not last as long as I hoped (4-6 hours) but I usually carry around a decant and tend to lightly refresh throughout the day so that wasn't really a problem.

Amber Oud Aqua Dubai was also great, but also did not have the tea note and leaned way more towards the soapy side as if it was a room spray or clean linen. Not a bad thing, just a slightly different vibe. I still really like that twist though with impressive longevity about 8-10 hours. Could be great for layering or just as a dumb reach out the shower.

Onto Marwa: For $48.69 total, this arrived May 20th from Aromatix's TikTok shop as I had heard about how close it was supposed to be but thought it was the usual hype machine pumping up the algorithm to maximize sales commissions, I took it with a grain of salt especially considering how new this fragrance is. I was about to purchase Aqua Dubai after a small sample, but something told me to try this instead.

"Maybe it will knock my socks off...". & it did! The hype is real.

I can see this fragrance gaining some steam, similar to how Aqua Dubai became one of the darling frags in the clone sphere (along with Liquid Brun, Turathi Blue, Lattafa Asad/Khamrah).

But MAN! If you are searching for a 1:1 around the same price as the others I mentioned, LOOK NO FURTHER! And I have only owned it for 3 full days! No maceration needed, at least for me.

The juice inside is hands down the closest interpretation to Louis Vuitton's Imagination that I have ever smelled, even side by side with the 2 mL sample I procured from the LV store, I can't smell a noticeable difference.

Perhaps the LV has more sparkly pop, more watery tea-musk on the opening towards the mid but for several hundred dollars more, that difference is minimal. The ultimate definition of diminishing return in my book. Just save your coin and buy this.

Closeness to the OG
- Opening: 9/10. It is not blended as well and is slightly bitter-synthetic up close but that is only compared directly side by side. Otherwise, in the air, it smells highly expensive and absolutely CAPTURES attention. Fresh out the shower with luxury bar of soap. They won't be thinking "What cologne do you wear?" but rather "you smell good, what soap and lotion do you use?"
- Mid to Dry Down: 10/10. The tea note is stunning. I can't believe this is $50. It does stay fairly linear from the heart notes on, being more tea/soap dominant, whereas the OG gets slightly more creamy as if from a high quality lotion despite becoming more of a weaker skin scent. I can tell this one still pushes out well past that 8 hour mark as I catch whiffs myself when moving around, telling me that I am still actively projecting and have not gone nose-blind.
- Sillage: It creates the most alluring scent trail. I walked past the nurse's station into the medical supply room & had my coworker follow me from the station to ask "Is that you? We all turned our heads wondering who was *aggressively* clean". I normally don't get a ton of compliments, because most people just think it in their heads but don't say anything. There's a kind of resistance to getting compliments in a way, sometimes it is awkward for them to say it. The fact that this one got a verbal response on the FIRST day tells you all you might need to know. I did not gatekeep and explained its a dupe of an expensive LV fragrance but they could smell like me for $50. It blew their minds. I've worn it to work every day since it came in and somebody new has stopped to ask what lotion or soap that I use.
- Longevity: Lasts a good while straight out of the box, no maceration needed necessarily. I'd say about 6-8 hours easily with a skin scent of about 8-10 hours. Still actively testing over the last 10 days. It will get stronger over time due to maceration in a dark closet too. Again, Aqua Dubai lasts longer but this one is closer so I don't mind reapplying.
- Projection/Strength: 9/10. Certainly more powerful than the OG and about on-par with Aqua Dubai (which is known for its outward push like most Al-Haramain frags). You will be noticed with this one. If you first apply some Vaseline (petroleum jelly) onto your pulse points such as neck, forearms and hands, THEN spray those same points, your skin will cling onto the fragrance to increase performance/projection for a few extra hours.
- Versatility: 10/10. the DNA is super versatile, year round since it just smells clean. if you are familiar with imagination, you will know it could be used year round with no problem. A true daily driver. Nothing much to say here. However, I would lean towards the warmer months as there's something about this citrus-tea-soap combo that SINGS in the sunlight.
- Price Value: 10/10. $50 instead of $400. Enough said! I might have to buy a backup. I wonder if the hype train will catch this one because the price might jump up. Then again, it was relatively hard to find as I got lucky buying before it sold out on TikTok because there were non-reputable sites that were selling it but that's taking a chance.
- Bottle Design: This sleek silver bottle comes in an equally eye-catching box that is cut as if a samurai sculpted it with a sword. Looks sharp, literally! The cap is heavy and takes a light tug to remove it so you can hold it by the cap briefly. It is also see through if you shine a light so you can monitor your dent over time.
Now, there are handfuls of clones that I have not tried but am I itching and clamoring to try them?
Nope. Not really. Maybe at some point I'd try the takes from Alexandra, Dua, Montagne or Yom & Layl but since those brands are likely $80-100 for a 50 mL, I'd honestly rather buy a backup bottle of this instead for half the price and double the juice. Like I mentioned, diminishing returns. They might be incrementally closer, but for the price I won't justify it.

I understand that frags get glazed and the community can be really toxic & misleading towards compliments/consumerism but I must say this one deserves it.

The hype is real. If you are not a fan of the Imagination DNA, move right along because this is a 1:1 attempt. Then again, I don't know why you'd be reading this if you weren't. Just buy it, internet friend. You won't be disappointed.

Marwa vs. Art of Arabia I vs. Sunrise on the Red Sand Dunes
EDIT: Now Marwa is also included in the comparison.

First of all, this will be a review that I will also leave 1 to 1 for Sunrise on the Red Sand Dunes and Art of Arabia I.

Unfortunately, I don't know Imagination by Luis Vuitton. But I really wanted to try this fragrance because of the strong reviews. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to get a sample, but I did get samples of the two best-known dupes AoA1 and SotRSD. Especially as I find the price of the original quite hefty. Not surprising for the brand, of course. All the better that there are more affordable dupes. I tested both on my skin, as this is more relevant to me than the smell on the test strip.

Similarities:
The vibe of these three fragrances is very similar. You can tell that they have the same idea and are similar. Nevertheless, I would say that there are clear differences. Especially compared to Zara's SotRSD

Differences:
In direct comparison, I notice the following

Marwa is very fresh, citrusy, slightly fruity and minimally floral. I can smell the teen note well. It is slightly synthetic, but overall very pleasant and very appealing. It also reminds me a little of a yellow-green AXE shower gel that was available back then. I don't know if it's still in the range. But it was great for my youthful nose at the time.

For me, AoA1 is a little creamier, mintier and has more of that typical oriental spiciness, which is probably due to the cinnamon. It is a little more tart, more grown-up, more suitable for the evening and therefore a little more sophisticated. Unfortunately, it is also more synthetic and less pleasing. The citrusy notes are stronger in the bergamot and the sweetness only comes through after a few minutes. Everything then seems a little soapy. Clean, but not really fresh. You can sense the tea, but overall the citrus dominates. I find it a little less pleasant and balanced than the other two.

SotRSD hits you directly with a sweet, citrusy freshness (mainly mandarin, less bergamot) and is therefore a little sweeter, slightly greener, less gentle, but sportier and more youthful. This strong citrus and sweetness fade somewhat after a few minutes and become softer. It then feels a bit like a sports shower gel - fresh, sweet, citrusy, but also slightly biting. The mandarin just wants to know.

Conclusion:
According to the reviews, the three fragrances are not as similar as they should be. All three are more suitable for the warmer seasons, although I think AoA1 and Marwa are more suitable for cooler seasons than SotRSD. Because of the mandarin, SotRSD goes its own way and is not really a dupe for me. It is more different from the other two.

For me, Marwa is the slightly more pleasant and better balanced fragrance in contrast to AoA1. Of course, this depends on your nose. I didn't like the start of AoA1 as much, as it smells more alcoholic, the citrus was a bit too much for me and the tea too little. In addition, the light soap vibe is weaker in Marwa. Admittedly, the Marwa bottle is also visually more attractive.

If you like both (Marwa & SotRSD), have the small change for both (which is still cheaper than Imagination) and want to take advantage of both depending on the situation, you can safely get both. SotRSD is somewhat more limited to the summer, to daytime with unbuttoned shirt and cocktail in hand at the beach bar. In the evening, when it's a bit cooler, Marwa is a better choice and will go down better in the club than SotRSD. They are similar enough that you can spray one over the other.

In a nutshell:
I think AoA1 is the more "classy" and "cleaner" scent. However, it is less pleasing and balanced. Personally, it's just a little too alcoholic, sour and soapy for me.
Marwa is the somewhat more suitable, pleasing and pleasant brother for everyday use. Nicely balanced and not too much of anything and also looks good in the cupboard. The better Imagination alternative.
SotRSD is not a brother, but rather the best buddy who rides the same style. Sweeter, a little more biting and more "youthful". Fruity mandarin is clearly in the foreground here and replaces fresh bergamot.

Super close for $50. The tea is prominent, so it's closer vs Full House/Aqua Dubai. Great longevity. Mega clean all day musk! SUCH A BANGER!
