The blend of all blends: in a fragrance paradise
What perfumers and perfumas in general have in common is a diffuse feeling of "I could use that" or at least "I could actually use that" or, very ascetically, "I wouldn't push it off the edge of the bed". A not inconsiderable amount of precious free time goes by for perfume enthusiasts with Parfumo, and there, in turn, many spend a not inconsiderable amount of that time buying and reselling and lucky swapping perfume. As long as one still has all the cups in the cupboard, one usually has the unpleasant awareness that one's own collection is quite large after all, the reassuring feeling that other people's are even worse (for this, of course, one looks very carefully at the comparative collections, because unfortunately there are always many sensible people who have eleven flacons less, which is very embarrassing for oneself), and the urgent need to at least keep an eye on the size of one's own collection. Still, there's no way you'd want to give up either trying fragrances or at least getting them in bottlings for that purpose. If you were to seriously consider this, you might as well unsubscribe from Parfumo - this hobby thrives on testing countless fragrances, and somehow you have to get your hands on the stuff. So, even if the exchange of 2 ml AFs is the first choice among experts, sometimes you have no choice but to buy. Not for nothing is perfume a luxury good and the problems one has with it are, much to the moral chagrin of most here, by definition only luxury problems.
This, in turn, is the reason for the lists I also very much favor: the lists for the four seasons (and the search for the perfume that combines the four seasons like a pizza ai quattro stagioni), for the different occasions, for the different scents. All of these forms of organization testify to the need to indulge in the illusion that one can artificially reduce a collection that has grown by always keeping in mind only a morsel, a forty-seventh of the actual total collection. The absolute front-runner is therefore the top ten of the individual perfume collection: you try to imagine what it would be like if you had to spend a summer in Newfoundland all alone with a few raspberries and blueberries. You get swept up in a vision of a harrowing house fire that only a few bottles would survive, or, better yet, you hallucinate a jealousy drama and hear the corrections officer whisper, "You're only allowed three fragrances in custody, decide quickly or that's it."
I know you know what I mean. The many different coping strategies of a very morally unpleasant feeling of excess speak volumes of this. Lying to yourself about lists never hurt anyone else. And mostly, a pleasant side effect, increase one's plan godchildren count at the end of a buying perfumo year. I could ramble on forever, but:

Shall I finally get to the subject of this comment? Yes, I shall. So:
IF I were only allowed to keep three fragrances in this lifetime. IF I had to choose. I know it for a fact: Khaltat Night would be there. I'd know I had it all in one scent: a top-notch gourmand. The best cherry in a fragrance in the world. An oriental that most others can't compete with. A feeling of velvety tenderness that few scents can match. And cinnamon in abundance. And complete freedom from any obtrusiveness, nothing distracting, nothing annoying. Not too much sweetness. Not too much spice. Not too much powder. Not too much nothing. I would have that one perfect scent and add to it something floral, fresh, because Khaltat Night doesn't offer that, and my signature scent. And I would be happy and satisfied forever. And if my bottle of Khaltat Night was empty, I would spare no effort to have it shipped to me again from the faraway Orient, because that way I would get a little adventure for free. Because the question of whether the order has arrived at Attar Collection is exciting in itself. It's even more exciting to see how and when it will get across the ocean. Khaltat Night is the egg-laying lizard among perfumes and yet so unmistakable. So soft, so balanced, so velvety. The development is fabulous: from the initial impression of a warm, full, sunlit cinnamon, which in no way comes across as spiky or spicy as it actually does everywhere else, a cherry slowly and deliberately peels out, as if you were trying to slowly strip the cinnamon all around from the cherry it was dusted on with a cake fork. The cherry is juicy, and it's velvety-marzipan, smooth, supple, and soft. It's always hard to deliver valid synaesthetic descriptions, but there's no other way to put it: Khaltat Night smells like a marzipan cherry made of purple velvet would feel. This wonderful impression of perfection then slowly fades over many hours into a warm, rich base, which in turn is a wonderful blend of earthy and vanilla and resinous tones. That Khaltat is really called "blends" amazes me. It's as prosaic as it is accurate. Most of all, it sounds like: 1001 Nights.

Famous parents - and the normal madness
Moin you crazy, as always first a dear greeting from the far north, I hope you are well. I was just outside with the dog. It rained. And really! But anyway, here's a quick anecdote from my life. (You just want a review on the fragrance? It starts visibly below.)

2019:

We're having a discussion about whether or not to have a family dog. I thought it was quite a nice idea, yet I sat in family circle and said:

"But everyone also needs to be aware that dogs are a lot of work."

"I promise you, I will walk him every time." came from our 12 year old on my left.

*I'm sure you will, cleaning your room is working out just fine,* I thought to myself.
"I always go with Bonny too." replied our 4 year old from the right.
*Nice image - a 4 year old walking a dog. Or is the dog walking her? And how does she come up with the name Bonny now, please?* My funny thoughts came to an abrupt end.

"Honey, we'll manage - look how cute the little one looks." said my wife - holding her cell phone out to me - with the only argument of all. On the screen a small ball of wool, which looked clumsily towards the camera.

*Quickly look somewhere else, keep weighing* my head screamed, but it was too late. My mouth formed all by itself and I heard myself say "yeah okay". Bummer. Immediately loud cheers erupted and I knew there was no turning back now.

Today:

"Don't look at me like that Bonny." (We didn't stand a chance. The name was set in stone! To this day, it's not clear where that name came from.) I say to the now "big" ball of wool in the photo. Our Yorkshire-Jack-Russell-dame (looks like a Yorkshire - but is twice as big) sits completely soaked in her basket and wags her tail. "This look is the reason why I have to leave the house early in the morning every day." her tail wags even more vigorously. Further, she looks directly at me. *Yes, yes - when the mind goes blank,* I think to myself.

Exactly two weeks the big one has walked the dog. After all. I've been doing it ever since. I call Bonny to me, stroke her head, look her in the eye and think to myself retroactively *You made the right decision.*

But now let's get to the real issue.

The scent that accompanied our wet, cold morning walk along the deserted beach pomenade. (Even in autumn and winter Warnemünde with its wide sandy beach and the mile-long promenade is beautiful and as a resident you enjoy the time when it is not crowded by tourists and you can enjoy the beauty of this place and the wide beach - yet at the same time you look forward again to summer and all the people who fill the promenade with life again and show me how lucky I am to live here.)

A fragrance that I haven't owned for very long - but that I have come to love. A fragrance that smells like it has pretty famous parents. Could here about Oajan and Lost Cherry not keep their hands off each other? Whereas Arabesque could also be involved here? The tabloids don't agree. But let's just start as usual pragmatically:

Flacon: 9/10

One word? Wow! What a great packaging. The fragrance comes in a beautiful velvet-covered box that opens to the top. There then stands the fragrance nestled in a velvet cushion. The bottle is delightfully massive and screams towards Montale, "See? This is how tin bottles go." Gorgeous color and a massive lid reminiscent of an Arabian spire roof of past grandeur. The sprayer is also top notch. The niche presentation is very high quality and quite great cinema!

The fragrance: 9/10

Again - Wow! What a great fragrance. This one starts off without much restraint with a decent amount of sweet-spicy cinnamon and a delicious dark cherry. The cherry gives off some Lost Cherry vibes here too - but without the boozy amaretto marzipan note. Don't get me wrong. The Khaltat definitely has a slight boozy note as well.

This one doesn't come from the amaretto, though, and is hard to interpret. What is not difficult to interpret is the (yet very background) bright red apple. The fragrance then develops pretty quickly to the end and it smells just wonderful. There's quite a lot of oajan here and the different associations you develop when smelling it are similar too. Sometimes a little cherry punch, then suddenly sweet Christmas market treats, shortly after a cinnamon star. The fragrance adapts more and more to its packaging and becomes more and more velvety shortly after the nevertheless very massive start. Simply world class.

Even if the Oajan will be my absolute number one forever because of its complexity so the Khaltat is simply a real board!

Especially the cherry provides here for a clearly different fragrance experience and he is by no means a clone of the Oajan. As I said, much more a child of Oajan and Lost Cherry. Delicious. And not as sweet as I expected. I do detect a little smoke as well. He has immediately become one of my favorites in the fall / winter!

Shelf life: 8/10

Short and sweet - with me he creates without problems 8 hours. No Beast - but perfectly okay.

Sillage: 8/10

Here, too, I keep it short. Two hours makes the neat music without flooding rooms. Even after that anything but skin deep.

Compliments: 9/10

Yeah what can I say So far there has been no negative feedback. Three day test in an open plan office with 80 colleagues and their knowledge of my passion was unequivocal. "Hmm that one smells yummy."

Wearability: 4/10

The fragrance is just a clear candidate for cold days. This applies to all fragrances of this type. Perfect to snuggle up and enjoy. The famous "Christmas scents" halt. :-P No idea why this is declared as a women's fragrance. For me 100%-tig unisex!!!

P/L: 8/10

I got 100ml for 90,00€. And quite honestly? This fragrance is more than worth it. Other brands take for this double and more. For this price, you get a fragrance that has absolute Nichenniveau from the packaging, over the bottle bishin to the fragrance itself.

Conclusion:

The fragrance has me surprisingly quickly convinced of itself. Whereas, so surprising it was then but not, denm he has also not had a hard time. Because exactly this kind of fragrances - Oajan, Farah, Ambre Tabac and Co - are my absolute favorites.

Besides, I'm generally not hard to convince. My family knows that, too. The best example sits tail wagging in front of me. Since also already times a sweet photo is enough. Maybe we'll get a second one at some point. But this time I'll name him. Clyde. Then we have Bonny&Clyde.

In this sense - enjoy your life. It's too short to do anything else!

As always hanseatic greetings ⚓

On the threshold of dreams
I had philosophized a long time ago with the husband about whether there were probably good scents in Arabia - freely after the motto: The fragrances of Arabia.

And the very next day, the boss of my regular perfumery Chic No 30 Sheik of Arabia presented us.
The proud hawk with the sparkling blue eyes flew straight into our hearts and answered our question with ease.

He is so far the undisputed No 1 in my collection and enthroned on the bedside cabinet.

But today reached me an Easter package of my dear friend, and in it slumbered a velvet box , which contained a midnight blue oriental-looking flacon.
This sight brought my nose already in Hab eight position.
My senses were set to Arabian nights - and they
were not disappointed !

Just a spray transformed me into a fairy tale princess from 1001 nights - staying in an alabaster seraglio - resting on gold-covered pillows.
Shimmering transparent fabrics float around my skin like a breath.
I am the Sultan's only daughter and his well-kept treasure.
My companion reads me legends from an old book in a soft soft voice, and I hear from afar sitar sounds that lull me and tire me pleasantly.
I slip into the dream world - accompanied by the soothing scent of cherries, vanilla beans and cinnamon - treats waiting for me on a golden tray - on the threshold of my dreams.

So the midnight blue bottle also finds its place next to my night hawk - and they both watch over me in unison.

Very helpful Review 15
I would love to go to aufessen❤️
A dreamlike ripe cherry with stone. Soft, gourmandig, expensive, adult and very sexy.
Full cherry at the beginning, velvety in the middle thanks to the cinnamon shavings, soft at the end by a cloud of really light smoke....
Really a beautiful fragrance. Long lasting, lenglebiege Sillage. More like evening perfume, you can't smell it enough. You want more and more.... Definitely addictive....
"Night of Love" is his name, and so he smells of love and passion.
Unfortunately not so easy to get in Germany....

Cherry syrup with cinnamon and vanilla, quite sweet and undoubtedly gourmand. In the base, an earthy patchouli that balances the scent well.
