The first Axe aftershave that I really liked
A few years ago, I started displaying my Axe body sprays in a showcase. From the initially small selection, over the years, it developed into a respectable collection of more than 500 cans from all over the world. Over time, I also began to collect aftershaves from the Axe/Lynx brand.
I found the oldest fragrance variations from the early 80s to be very unpleasant old-man scents, characterized by an overwhelming musk or amber smell.
For me, as a teenager at the time, it was an absolute no-go.
However, as a true collector, I had to keep these old aftershave bottles.
When I then acquired my first Axe Mirage aftershave, I prepared myself for another unpleasantly overpowering men's scent based on my previous experiences with the older Axe fragrances. I was all the more surprised when I opened the bottle and was greeted by a pleasantly fresh, somewhat aquatic scent.
When tested on the skin, my first impression did not worsen at all.
Among the older Axe variations, this was the first one that I truly liked.
It's a shame that the fragrance has not been produced for a long time and Axe Mirage is extremely rare on online platforms. So I am very sparing with this aftershave and use it at most a few times a year.
Surprisingly, the once low-priced aftershave has not changed in the nearly 20 years since its production, so hopefully it will still smell the same in 10 years.
I have not been able to find a similar scent anywhere so far. But I will keep searching!
