A no from me
I do not like this but this is a very high quality and "niche" inspired frag, as rose/oud is a highly regarded combo. To get a rose/oud frag this high quality from a mall brand, is pretty impressive. Banana Republic really kinda nailed it with these.

Anyway, to me, extremely jammy and almost cloying in terms of sweetness with the plum and rose. I do not like rose as a note so when I pick it up, it stands out to me. Also, that plum must be adding to the rose's jamminess and I just don't like it. The rose and oud to me doesn't smell poopy or anything really, it just doesn't smell nice to me. If anything its almost astringent? It is an extremely different scent profile for a mall brand. I feel most people who shop at BR don't know what oud is. I didn't know what it was until a few years ago. So really interesting for them to go with this kinda scent.

If you like rose/oud, get this. It's a steal at any price. I've smelled Santal Royal and Oud Satin Mood, both with the rose/oud combo, and although they are much much higher quality, the rose/oud in here reminded me of the rose/ouds I've smelled in those other frags. It's not a lame attempt at all. This is a great release, just not for me

A new friend
For me this is my first unisex scent I use and the only one that confussed me so much.In my opinion is a loved or hated parfum.I will explain:
Whith my first spray I thought that 17 Oud Mosaic was more a female scent and remind me slightly CK
Obsession for woman, but after a couple of hours transformed into a clean, gentle, oud and a little soappy scent(do yoy remember the 80's CAMAY soap?). So I decided to tested with my friends.
The next day I took my bottle in my job and i pretented that i did not know if it was a male or female scent and I asked from them to test and tell me their opinion. After a few minutes I noticed a variation
of reactions. Most of the men said that this is a female scent and most of the woman said that this is a heavy male scent....I also noticed that the persons that used to buy clones or bulk scents disliked it and the others that used originals parfums appriciated it a lot (is this accidental ?).
After a few days I sprayed into my skin and clothes and I asked some of my friends to tell me their oppinion for my ''new'' fragrance. Can yoy imagine? Most of them that dislike it few days ago told me that ''this is a nice fragrance ,not like the ''other'' I brought them a few days ago(LOL)!!!
Anyway, after this little expierince I decided that there are not clear limits to characterize a fragrance
male or female, the omly guide is to enjoy them.In my opinion 17 OUD MOSAIC is a really nice and gourmant scent in a very logical price.I can clearly smell the rose ,the Oud, the Amber and the Musk,
less the galbanum and the plum , maybe some wood and finally some clean and soappy notes after the first 2 hours. The rose and the oud remains until the end.The longevity into my skin is about
7-8 hours,in the clothes more than a day.I recomended but test it first.

Plum in the classic oud rose combo
Let s keep it short and sweet...Apropos sweet the hint of this fragrance lies in the plum and remembers me of Wallstreet of bond 9, very clean, sweet expensive smelling. The hole fragrance doesn't smell cheap. The rose reminds me of the rose used by Montale, and in both cases it doesn't smell neither too chemical or natural, and it s very well balanced and sympathetic. And then comes the superstar the oud. It s a kind sort of oud, not animalic, not to smooky and Atwell balanced... A very very good fragrance especially for that price... Longevity and Sillage should be good as all reviews say, I haven't had the opportunity yet to check that 100%... The musc gives the scent his clean character, amber enriches it together with the cardamom but play a second role, and pop up decently from time to time...totally recommend!

A Trip to the Banana Republic
As so often at night, I lay awake and, almost in a trance, bought one or another cheapie in the souk to expand my collection.
After a brief flight over the fragrance pyramid and the realization that for 15 euros there was not much risk in buying this scent, I ordered it right away and could finally sleep.

A few days later it arrived (to be honest, I had already forgotten that I had ordered it) and was applied to my arm just a few minutes later, with little expectation.

I wish I had expected a little more, because unexpectedly, I was immediately hit by a lush scent of fermented plums and peppery rose.
Dry, a bit piercing, and at first really old-fashioned.
I immediately thought of a group of sprightly retirees who had tidied themselves up a bit for the weekend city trip - and had pulled out the miniature of their old favorite fragrance from the cupboard for it.

However, this impression faded after just 30 seconds, and a truly pleasant, well-balanced, and dry-sweet oud-rose scent unfolded.
The really well-captured plum fades a bit into the background but carries the woody, floral, and spicy notes throughout with a pleasantly subtle sweetness.

After 30 minutes, the fragrance had gone through its most significant transformation, leaving a noble and truly pleasant scent that is primarily remembered for its rose and pepper.
I only perceive oud and plum as woody and dry-sweet in the background now. Like a light powdered sugar cloud that carries the scent. Very elegant and pleasant.

For this price, the longevity is truly excellent; even 8 hours after my test with just one spray, I still perceived the scent very prominently on my skin.
The sillage weakens a bit after 5 hours, which is totally fine, and I believe is necessary for this fragrance.

So, for anyone looking for a noble and classic going-out scent with the necessary seriousness for a small price, this is the right place.

Since this was my first scent from Banana Republic, I am already very curious about my next bargains after this positive test.

Good quality, unfortunately not for me!
I personally have not been in the world of perfumes for very long, so I may not find all the right words and terms. However, if I had to describe the scent to someone who has not smelled many perfumes or only the standard scents, it would look like this.
I bought the fragrance blindly based on many positive reviews online. For the 19 euros I paid, it stood out positively to me at first due to its packaging compared to my other fragrances. The bottle comes in a nice, serious, simple black cardboard box. This can be pulled out of a drawer by a small inconspicuous fabric loop on the side. The bottle itself is beautifully presented in the center (securely embedded in foam). It is kept simple with a cap that feels very high-quality made of heavy metal. It closes and opens with a pleasant click.
With the first sprays, I immediately expected a strong, rosy scent based on other reviews. However, that was not the case, as it smelled more like an unpleasant mixture of indistinguishable notes, but surprisingly little rose. So I left the bottle standing on my shelf. However, when I took it out a few hours later with little expectation and smelled it again, I detected the rose a bit stronger. I thought: Well, why not - spritz spritz - applied it again on my wrist. And then, there was the rose! Wow, an almost too strong and intense rose that smells just like one imagines a rose at its ripest time. Then a very strong alcoholic plum pushes to the forefront, which almost smells fermented. After about 15 minutes, a pleasant mix of rose, plum, and not overly animalistic oud wood develops on my skin. At that time, it was pleasant, but not really suitable for my age group (17 years). I see the scent more suited for men in the advanced age of 45+. The sillage at that time is also not unpleasant; you can smell the fragrance, but not too intrusive.
After about 45 minutes, the rose has almost completely faded, the plum also recedes into the background, and the oud has become stronger and more unpleasant. So at this point, the scent is no longer for me. After that, it becomes very close to the skin, still good to smell, but practically just strong oud and other indistinguishable notes. The oud is not completely unpleasant, but in my opinion, no longer attractive. At that point, I would rather smell like nothing at all.

Conclusion:
For men in advanced age, it is actually quite acceptable, but certainly not for teenagers. For women, I see the scent through the rose in the first 15 minutes; after that, it becomes too masculine due to the oud for women of any age group. There are many better rose fragrances that smell more pleasant and feminine.
Regarding longevity: Above average, especially on clothing (still clearly recognizable after four days on a T-shirt). It lasts about 8 to 10 hours on my skin; after that, it is only very faintly detectable, but no longer really perceivable.
Wearable occasions: Hard to categorize, I personally see it fitting in very few situations, definitely not at school or in the office - and certainly not during sports.
Regarding the seasons: Definitely not in summer or spring, more in autumn or best only in winter.

I will not wear the fragrance often, as it is only suitable for very few occasions for my age group! For the 20 euros, it is okay to try it blindly, but I would not buy it again.

Final conclusion: Good quality, long-lasting, unfortunately not for younger age groups.

I hope my first review helps you with your purchasing decision :-)

Jammy rose with a funky oud accord. As time passes, the funkiness dies down and the rose gets a little sour. Performance could be better.

Smells like a barnyard from start to finish. I didn’t want to wear it out in public. So animalic it could be a crotch.

In the moldy, damp smell of the cellar, the rose has long since faded. The oud note stands out sharply and sourly. I find it terrible.

I really only see this on men of advanced age, although personally, the rose/plum feels too mature and feminine to me.

Reminds me of some niche oud-rose scents like Oud Ispahan, Rose Oud, or Black Aoud. However, it's a bit more wearable and simpler.

A fruitier, lighter, and fresher version of "oudTouch".
Feels like it’s layered with "Individuel (Eau de Toilette)".
I like it!

Delicate animalistic opening, balanced drydown. In my opinion, one of the best value winners among the "niche" oud fragrances. Amazing!

Absolutely identical to "OudTouch" Franck Oliver, the great dupe for "Oud Ispahan" Dior. Irresistible dirty rose in all its glory :-)
