One more word on the topic of wood..
.....and this shall not be the last. At a small price, I got the "Rosewood" scent from Banana Republic in my perfumery because it was "discontinued." And the name, which confirmed the actual scent, was so tempting. I cannot describe the scent of the Eau de Parfum as very sweet. Rather, this composition is a well-executed mélange of noble dark woods, a hint of flowers (most likely rose and a bit of jasmine), and freshly peeled vanilla from the pod. A slight powderiness cannot be denied. It is the "powderiness" of the finest sawdust from freshly worked wooden elements of fine inlaid furniture. Unvarnished and in its natural state. Transitioning from light to dark, and vice versa, shimmering with the light. And besides, it is long-lasting and becomes softer over time. A delicate smokiness (but not that of tea) can also be perceived towards the end. But what truly lingers until the very end is this fine, dark, and light wood that accompanies me. A quiet, subtle, yet distinct odor. Stylistically good and finely grained...
