Why don't I deserve you?!
Is it like cursed? Am I fragrance-blind? What have I done that you don't want to hang out with me?
Reading the comments was like a little rollercoaster ride of emotions. "Yesss, I have to test this, it seems promising!" vs. "Oh no, the strong similarity to Gucci is not good at all!"
"What?! The similarity to Gucci is not good?! Dude, what's wrong with you?!!!" might have crossed the mind of some. Well, I would like to know that too. Because it’s not the perfume itself that is the problem, but rather my perception of it.
BfMA does indeed have a very strong resemblance to Gucci pour Homme. They might even be twins. Personally, I can't detect any difference. Although my nose is not particularly trained.
Bentley starts with a decent amount of incense. Mmmmm, very nice. Strongly spicy, slightly mineral, and even lighter peppery. Balanced and not synthetic at all for me. There is a kinship with Carbone de Balmain. A harmonious relationship, you enjoy seeing each other at family gatherings.
And as much as I would love to continue describing how the perfume develops and what else it might have in store, it has no chance on my skin. The incense lingers a bit, and then quite quickly, nothing happens anymore.
"I can't believe this," I thought. I had to go through the same thing when testing Gucci pour Homme. Initial excitement that unfortunately quickly turned into confusion.
"Where is it?" Gone. And that’s a shame. I can’t detect any development, and the sillage is.........well, there is none. The scent is not present, it holds back and shuts itself off from my nose. After a short time, I almost have to press my olfactory bulb through my epidermis just to catch a whiff of the fragrance.
Recently, I went overboard. Go for it! Spray a lot! Bathe in it! That was certainly 12-15 sprays that I blasted around me. Really disgusting. Well, not entirely. It didn’t help. Neither my own perception nor the sillage benefited from it. I’m just fragrance-blind.
His little (?) brother, Bentley for Men Intense, captivated me much more. There is a progression, a sillage, a presence. Oh, how I wish I could have that with Absolute (or even with Gucci).
I like you, but you just don’t stick with me. So I’ll let you go. The brief moments with you are still always beautiful.

Was it the Eau de Parfum from the bottle shown above, or from the one that doesn't have a gold top/cap anymore (but is completely black instead)?
I'm curious if the version in the all-black bottle has been reformulated/diluted.
