Poetry in Palermo Birkholz 2026

Poetry of Palermo is a fragrance that is definitely not for everyone.
It is quite special due to its distinctly spicy character. I have definitely smelled a scent like this before, which should not sound negative! I have smelled many fragrances so far, and this is quite normal.
I like the scent, and especially over time, it becomes more beautiful for me.

The fragrance initially starts with a spicy cardamom.
But it doesn't stop at just this classic cardamom.
The cardamom almost feels ethereal. Perhaps this is due to the thyme used.
I don't quite like the initial phase either. It feels a bit uneven and not entirely harmonious to me.
However, it gets better and more beautiful over time.

As time goes on, Poetry of Palermo definitely gains some slightly earthy nuances from the patchouli used.
I also sense a kind of resinous sweetness building up. It could also be something very lightly smoky and alcoholic.
Some spirits do have a slight sweetness.
The fragrance also improves significantly during this transitional phase from the top note to the rest. At least, that’s my personal feeling.
Everything feels more harmonious.

In my opinion, the fragrance has very good performance. On my skin, this scent lasts a good nine hours! It also projects really well.
Can't complain!
Poetry of Palermo is unisex wearable. However, I could imagine that it suits men much better.

I really wanted to order Colours of Capri, and that's exactly what I did. Poetry in Palermo simply had to join the cart.

Colours of Capri was an instant hit for me. Then came Poetry in Palermo. My first thought: Um... what did I just order? Endless patchouli, slightly autumnal. Somehow completely different from what I had imagined. I was actually close to washing it off.

Luckily, I didn't do it.

The fragrance just needs a little time. After about ten minutes, it became really beautiful. The initially very prominent patchouli note, which I don't perceive as chocolatey by the way, softens, and the balsamic, slightly resinous notes start to emerge more and more, and I smell thyme, which I really find great. The violet adds a fine, powdery elegance, labdanum provides a warm depth, and the geranium wonderfully balances everything with a subtle freshness.

Later, it becomes pleasantly creamy and woody with sandalwood, musk, and patchouli.
The longevity is really extremely good. Sprayed in the evening, you can still perceive the dry down the next morning.

My conclusion: Don't be put off by the first impression. Poetry in Palermo is definitely a fragrance that needs a bit of time and develops wonderfully on the skin.

And now my personal tip: Layer it with Colours of Capri! It's really fun. The fresh lightness of Colours of Capri meets the warm, balsamic depth of Poetry in Palermo. And together, it creates an incredibly beautiful, summery-elegant combination for me. I find it more wearable than Poetry in Palermo solo.
