Oud Wood? Only in part...

I am only partially satisfied with the "Gold Oud | Blend Oud." The scent didn't really blow me away, and the longevity on my skin, lasting 6 to 8 hours, is not groundbreaking either. I would even describe the sillage as meager. The top note does remind me a bit of "Oud Wood (Eau de Parfum) | Tom Ford," but as it develops, this comparison fades.

The citrus aromas indicated in the fragrance pyramid are completely absent in the top note. Here, I detect oriental spices like cardamom, but also clary sage and eucalyptus. The heart note offers a mix of peppery and floral hints. I primarily catch whiffs of rose water, but also jasmine flowers, tuberose, and a bit of ylang-ylang. The base then has a slightly sweet scent of cinnamon but also a strong woody note of oud.

Somehow, it just didn't really "click" for me, even though this is certainly not a bad fragrance. I thank Will for the sample.
