Flattering oud
I stumbled across Oud Sapphire here rather by accident, when I read statements about Oud Satin Mood. This I had namely, and have passed it on here, because the fragrance was basically nice, but has sheer slayed me, and I felt like a cartoon character running around in a drawn "fragrance cloud"...;)
So now to Oud Sapphire:
Smelled on the bottle, it actually smells exactly like "Oud Satin Mood". But the difference quickly becomes apparent when you wear the fragrance. Violets and rose, kept entirely in dark tones march along in warm unanimity with the spicy-woody oud. Overall, the impression here is rather spicy and deep and much less sweet than "Oud Satin Mood".
Also, the oud develops here somehow "edgier and me more momentum" - it is not so softened, Rundgelutscht. The fragrance remains so spicy / woody / balsamic - and it remains very long. It's welcome to do so, as it's an extremely pleasant, classy companion that doesn't push itself to the extreme like its related buddy. The silage is still great, though. I like wearing it, it makes me feel good with its warming embrace - and at the same time, I like its harsher, more non-conformist character a little better.
Shelf life is forever. A good buy, in my opinion.
