A long life
My Dearest Grandson,
now the time has come, after all these years I am gone. Rest assured, it has been a rich and full life!
You know you were always the dearest of all to me. Even as no boy, when you climbed on my lap and listened to my stories. For that you shall also have the most precious thing I own. Not earthly goods, which my sons and daughters can divide, no, the most precious thing of all: the secret of long life!
You know I have had many adventures, as a young sailor in the merchant navy and even later. You probably know the greatest one by heart, so often I had to tell you about it: the shipwreck before xxxx. You always thought you knew everything about it, but here it is, the whole truth: when I came to after the shipwreck, alone and more dead than alive, I looked into her face for the first time. A face as brown and deeply furrowed and as old as the earth itself. A medicine woman, a shaman, had rescued me, and as I had always been interested in botany, I could communicate well with her, and soon she taught me all she knew. So also the secret of long life, which I will now confide to you, just as she showed it to me:
as soon as darkness falls
on the first new moon of the year rub yourself on the bark of the sacred tree
under the eagle's rock
cover yourself with its resins
let the ripe bergamots lie
you don't need them
continue until midnight
then rest an hour on the branches of spicy bushes
their seeds shall cover thee
play the drum
and dance the trees
and dance the night
dance all that is perishable
and dance your true name
know your self
and let it fall
embrace all the trees and become one with them
let the bitterness of existence evaporate
till the dawn thou shalt lie down in the dark grass
and then cover thyself with the black earth
so dream the sunrise
and know thy place in creation
That's all, you know the place, perform the ritual, live long and happy!
Your loving grandfather

My grandfather died 4 weeks ago. In a motorcycle accident. He was going way too fast again, on his way to visit one of his mistresses. He was 123 years old. I have just booked the flight to xxxx.
------------
Chelsea doesn't hold back with bergamot firlefänchen and starts off right strong with oud of the bitter, medicinal variety. No cowshed far and wide, that's already good. Spices are also present from the start and reinforce the medicinal impression. Vetiver of the dark variety comes along and later also some patch. The medicinal-bitter goes back a little, but remains always present. After 1.5 hours, a very slight freshness comes from the vetiver, along with dark wood and some damp earth. I couldn't detect any amber. The whole thing lasts easily 8-9 hours and steams the first 2-3 hours also quite strong. The fragrance thus develops quite, the medical-bitter oud remains but from beginning to end tonangebend.
Another oud variant after the cowshed - is me already 100% prefer. Wear I still do not like it...
Thanks to the shaman Toppine!
