Ride on the Witch's Broom
Itruk - a new fragrance from the house of Bois 1920. Offered online for a staggering €320, the scent comes in a 100ml grey bottle that couldn't be more plain and dreary. It looks quite decent in the photos, but somehow also banal. This in no way justifies the high price. And the fragrance itself? Even less so!
Itruk starts off quite sharp and spicy and remains that way for a long time. Caraway, cardamom, pepper, salty notes. All of this is contained within the scent. Surrounded by black, heavy clouds that almost hang down to the ground. The smoke is very dense, which is a very disturbing factor. It doesn't cover anything; it just spreads out and makes the spices stagnate. This stagnation bothers me a lot. Nothing progresses. It just stays as it is. For hours. Stagnant, spicy emptiness. A witch unpacking her herbs and mixing them. In hot water. In a musty wooden house, where the coal seems to be settling on the walls. After a long herbal mixture, the scent becomes flatter. So flat that I couldn't help but stifle a loud yawn. Only a shadow of smoke remains and sifts through the spices. Patchouli? Iris? Where are you? I perceive nothing! It's mainly just herbs swirling around in my head, like the ride of a witch on her broom. Surrounded by black clouds, delicately adorned with tonka bean and vanilla at the end, but nothing more! Mystical and fascinating this is by no means, but rather dull, extracted from some fairy tale. Even the moon hangs crooked and laughs hysterically at such a composition, which sees itself as a true revelation of secrets online. No, Bois 1920, you haven't done anything good here. Everything feels far too exaggerated and unbalanced. Moreover, the demanding and driving force seemed very rich, but after 2 hours, it turns out to be totally lackluster.
I know better from Bois. Besides, I could just as well throw the money out of the window. Maybe a witch will come by with her broom and toss the money into Bois's cauldron to improve the scent. *Eye roll*
Jokes aside: The fragrance is not worth its price. While it may be art for someone, for me it is a copy of a herbal mixture. Longevity and sillage receive a rating, as does the bottle. I still come to 40%, even if it hurts, right Bois?
