My pencil doesn't eat salad...

... because that famously shrinks the biceps ;)

"Itruk" caught my attention with its pale, gray, heavy appearance, which makes the always fine Bois 1920 bottle shape even more remarkable, and the aggressively masculine, interesting-sounding name did the rest. I was completely unaware of the fragrance notes or anything similar, and I hadn't even realized that Bois 1920 was now also jumping on the train with some scents - because the Oud train has actually long since left the station...

Upon spraying, a creamy chaos of pepper, spices & incense rushed towards me, fitting the gray appearance. Like pencils pumped up. Like a gray mouse with a big mouth. Like a gray everyday suit for €1000. Somehow strangely aggressive for such a monotonous mass. But interesting enough that I was extremely curious about the further development. And it became calmer, heavier, more delicious. Gray turns more into brown & a pleasant mix of incense & oud. It's something one is already quite familiar with, for example from Mauboussin's M Generation or even colder from Avignon, but I like it. Way too expensive, though, but I like it. When, how, where I would wear it is a mystery, but that doesn't matter when looking at the price anyway. So it remains a gray colossus of creamy iris, tingling cardamom, delicious oud & sacred incense.

Bottle: pale, monotonous, but somehow strong.
Sillage: a rock in the incense surf.
Longevity: easily 11 hours. Strong!

Conclusion: better than its reputation, especially in the soft drydown, where it becomes a truly noble incense charmer. However, there are better, significantly cheaper alternatives. Therefore: overpriced!

So, is Itruk the scent for Amarok drivers, right?

Yes, the price is simply unacceptable... for any fragrance of any brand!
