Place Vendôme Boucheron 2013 Eau de Toilette

I was in the perfume shop today and stocked up on a super-citrusy summer scent from Dior. I came with a long list to sniff the fragrances on my wish list, and right away I got so caught up with Place Vendôme EdT that my determined intention to buy wavered. The original idea was to acquire a cheerful summer fragrance, modern, a bit refined, but above all really citrusy, for very hot days. So I sprayed - with my Dior scent in the shopping basket, and although it wasn't as citrusy as I actually intended - Place Vendôme EdT on my skin. At first, there's a light fruity note, that must be the Yuzu, but it's packaged so beautifully bright and fresh that even I, a fruit scent hater, stick with it. Then a lovely fresh yet warm, beautifully powdery, understated floral scent develops; the rose with the iris and jasmine is simply perfect. The whole time, a hint of it envelops me, and since I don't know the scent yet, I start to pick up the trail like a bloodhound, searching for what smells so enchantingly beautiful, pleasing, feminine, and refined here. And I enthusiastically arrive at my forearm, where I then have to pause and enjoy. Slowly, after about 3 hours, the base comes through, and now it really blows me away. What is this? Mind-bending, very sexy, seductive, warm, cozy, smoky. I can't help it; I'm glued to my forearm. In a way, it reminds me of what remains on my skin from XerJoff's Blue Hope. Mysteriously warm, cozy, and challenging, simply fabulous. Wonderful! The best summer scent I have ever smelled. Perfectly unobtrusive, yet very refined, delicate and spirited at the same time, present and understated. Simply wonderful. I want it...
The bottle is very pretty and stylish, authentically matching the scent, sillage is average, longevity is medium to good. It has now been over seven hours since I sprayed it, and it is still enchantingly close to the skin.
