Overwhelmed by Raspberries

I want to write about a discontinued fragrance now. It is a good example of how taste changes once you train your sense of smell just a little bit.

A typical Bruno Banani. With the characteristic piercing plastic top note, well-known from Bruno Banani Woman. This time accompanied by a raspberry that smells more like plastic than anything else. There’s not much else going on here. The tea is the closest thing. But only with an underlying spiciness that doesn’t stand up to the omnipresent plastic.

I don’t find Made for Women particularly sweet, rather aquatic... raspberry water. If the other fragrance notes were a bit stronger, it might not be so bad. I find most raspberry scents terribly artificial. For me, it needs something floral to balance it out (Lady Million shows how it’s done). But unfortunately, that’s missing here. This makes it one-dimensional and annoying. When I bought the fragrance in 2011, I found it interesting, but I only wore Made for Women twice because I quickly got tired of that plastic note. I had a similar experience with Bruno Banani Woman.

I remember the longevity being very weak. With an initial massive sillage that fades very quickly. That’s also something you know from the brand.

I wouldn’t recommend this fragrance to anyone. It triggers a massive flight response in me.

With all the Bruno Banani scents, you'll see me running. The only men's fragrance I like is that quirky one with the gray cap. I find Bruno Banani Woman absolutely terrible - it actually makes me feel sick. I suspect it's the ivy; I just don't like ivy in fragrances. *shudder*
