I loved and owned Byblos ghiaccio since the first time it appeared, in the late Nineties, when I was a girl. Now that it has come back on the drugstores shelves I couldn't smell it and buy immediately!
But let's look at the bottle and smell the scent to judge if it has changed or not.
The new packaging isn't as refined as the first: the bottle, still simple and minimal, appears cheaper than the original one you can see here above (minimal but elegant, of frosted glass ).
The scent remains more or less the same and I was almost forgetting its apparent simplicity which hides a complex accord .
At the first smell, you think of a simple watery fragrance because the citrusy and water flowers notes hit immedialy your nose. A few minutes after, you begin to perceive the violet heart notes and , finally, the dry -oriental base notes last on your skin for a few hours . In particular, I love the myrrh associated to the more "masculine" musk and made more vibrant by a vetiver touch. The result is a wonderful "androgynous" fragrance with a good sillage and longevity,in spite of its appearance.
I associate this scent to wintertime, maybe for its name, "Ghiaccio" ( Italian word for "Ice") . Indeed, it's a "introverse" scent , revealing its warmer character little by little, just like a Capricorn born in the middle of winter. But you can wear it , for a shocking effect, in summer too, maybe by night, because of its quite deep base . The price is affordable: about 20€ or less (on sale) for a 120ml one size.
Discover the freshness of ice and the winter mysteries throgh this fragrance. I think that winter isn't only a season, but also and mainly a state of mind.
