Future Memories Byredo 2026

that’s what the representative said. give it some time. because the opening was really underwhelming. Green but not really green, interesting but not really interesting. then, at the 20-30minute mark- oh gosh- it got really nice. I thought to myself “oh here comes the Quentin Bisch magic we all know and love”.. but then I gave it some more time. and the magic disappeared and all I was left was a poor interpretation of the Quentin Bisch signature akigala/synthetic dry down but even that was fairly underwhelming. Maybe I went in with high hopes and thus the extreme disappointment.

Instantly in love when I tested this in store and bought a 100ml right after. The scent stayed for 10-12hrs on skin on me which is crazy for Byredo. A better version of Althair in a fresher way. Easily one of the best Byredo fragrances of the entire collection with high longevity aswell. For People who love vanilla this is a must have scent.

Upon first spray, it was not at all what I expected. With aldehydes listed, I imagined something a little fresher- where this felt almost musty and mature. The galbanum was quite strong and not my favorite. After a couple of hours, it felt very familiar and Althair comes to mind? I own Vanille Camouflage and Green Vanille and prefer both for a “green vanilla”. This isn’t for me, but I imagine it will do week simply bc it’s Byredo and Bisch. I’ll give it another shot in winter.

I understand the concept of green vanilla but to me this isn’t necessarily that. On my skin, the blackcurrant starts off quite bright and turns into a beautifully creamy scent with a touch of lightness from the lingering blackcurrant. I can’t specifically detect the vanilla but I would describe it as a warm and creamy scent with maybe the faintest cloud of powdery florals and light fruitiness.

I think it’s quite unique for both the brand and for the vanilla family!

Starts with aldehyde + black currant + sourness? Then the iris kicks in (makes it better) then deep dries to Althair w/pinch of green. And at some point during the mid I thought it took on a suede/leather like quality but it didn’t stay that way for the entire wear.

After hearing it compared to a lot of other “green vanilla” fragrances, I can’t say my nose registered it the same- I wish it had. I own Divine Vanille, Green Vanille and Angelique Noire and I would not say it’s similar to any of those to my nose on my skin. Which isn’t a bad thing, necessarily, just caught me off guard after hearing other people’s experiences. Different nose, different pH I guess.

In the deep dry down, I find it very similar to Althair. I think as it is in the drying process and that Althair quality starts to peek out, that is what helps make the fragrance better after a very hard opening.

While wearing Althair on my right hand and Future Memories on my left hand, I’m wondering if Future Memories is a slow burn kind of fragrance or if my tastes just aligns more with Althair since the goal of Future Memories is the whole body of Althair.
