Scented chameleon
Never touch a butterfly by the wings, it impairs its quality of life, was always my grandfather's admonition with a raised index finger.
The wing dust, as I call it in layman's terms, consists of many small scales and enables the fluttering creature to fly stably without expending a lot of energy. If the wing is dusted by contact with our skin's own fat, this affects the butterfly, but does not necessarily lead to death, as is often mentioned.
One scale follows the next, almost like iridescent fish scales, they represent the complete color spectrum of these flyers of a summer. The rich yellow of the swallowtails contrasts with the black, the intense red and iridescent green of the rams' tails. Also the brown bear, clearly accentuated with strong colors. Add to this the beautiful sky blue of the Hauhechel blue butterfly.
That's the scent. My theory: the microparticles that detach when the wings flap attach themselves to the nasal mucosa of the wearer and leave a highly recognizable mark. Impossible to ever forget this scent again.
An iridescent masterpiece of colors in which so many individual components form a perfect whole. Shimmering aldehydes open the round of dancing moths that love to rest in the sun on the pink blossom.
Very inconspicuous at first spray, on closer perception of the fragrance a fantastic world of fragrances that are completely unspectacular on their own, but together form a potpourri that I have not often smelled in this way.
Warm, soft, subtle spiciness with a temporary sweetness. In between, there is always the wafting of a lukewarm wind, which allows the butterfly to rise only to cool itself shortly afterwards on the fresh water.
Anyone expecting a green fragrance, as the bottle might suggest, will be disappointed.
Leather? Very briefly, fine, gray suede comes to the fore, only to linger longer on other occasions. This is either due to the mood of the day or the temperature. Who knows?
Interesting this cocoa note, which remains (very) discreetly in the background, as if someone had stopped for a moment with a cup of hot chocolate and a small veil of aroma floats in our direction. Slightly nutty nuances, with powdered cream, soft and creamy.

The name of the perfume is very well chosen for this constantly changing fragrance. It always shimmers differently, and the more often I can smell it on women, the more beautiful I find it.

The price is not without its drawbacks, as already mentioned elsewhere, the word limited triggers us. This fragrance fulfills the expectations we had - unfortunately in vain - for its namesake from Puredistance.
With the green butterfly, we are now in the comfortable position of being able to spray on the radiant light, warmth and sparkling colors of summer during the darker months.

Letter to the Green Butterfly
Dear Green Butterfly,

on paper we are enemies. Because I don't like chocolate in fragrances, please no orange blossom, get away from me with neroli. The combination of citrus and vanilla makes me nauseous. Suede also turns into a sharp something on my skin, vetiver quickly makes fragrances too masculine for me. And now all of these notes come together in you. Nothing can save iris and white musk...

Now, however, a generous perfumer sent me a small bottle of you with an order. I sprayed on a few drops with great interest. Pure confusion....

Why are you like a perfect combination of a grown-up gourmand and powdery classicism in a modern guise? Why are you so dense and delicate at the same time? Cool and fresh yet warm and round? You are a chocolate-vanilla fragrance that doesn't smell like food. Sweet but not sticky. You strike the perfect balance between kitsch and elegance... you float around me and cuddle me in your delicate arms. You are the scent of a wood elf dancing among the trees, your wings glistening golden in the sun.

All the fragrances are so masterfully dosed and interwoven that nothing stands out or stings

Even if there is a hint of synthetics at the beginning, you will experience a wonderful journey on your skin. You become increasingly rounder, softer and more balsamic - without losing a hint of freshness.

Its longevity on the skin is really good at around 7 hours. Unfortunately, I can't say anything about the bottle yet - but I really hope that you can move in with me in all your glory soon.

I'm sure not everyone will like you and you're not a fragrance for every day - but for me you're something special.

See you soon,
Bix

Not of this world..
Do green butterflies actually exist? Probably only in the tropics. In any case, I've never seen one in this country. Nevertheless, the first time I heard the name "Green Butterfly" I immediately had a picture in my mind's eye. A large, dark green-golden iridescent butterfly with delicate powdery wings, gently swaying and dancing through the air. An exotic and at the same time rather fairytale-like image that immediately captivated me. I wanted to know what it smelled like, this magical green butterfly...

And I was not disappointed:
It really does smell as green and powdery-sweet of iris, orange blossom and vanilla as I had imagined. At the same time, however, it is infinitely delicate and somehow artificial due to the aldehydes, incomparable to anything else, not of this world. When you wear it, the colors change, sometimes the green, sometimes the powdery-sweet side of the butterfly predominates. It is not easy to grasp, which is why I think the name fits well here for once. A seductive daydream like the green fairy in Viktor Oliva's painting "The Absinthe Drinker", which the fragrance also made me think of.

In addition, "Green Butterfly" has a special effect on me that I have never experienced with any fragrance before: When I wear it, I feel more beautiful. Sounds strange, but it's true. I look in the mirror and think: "I don't need to put on any more make-up today. The scent is enough. It makes all other efforts superfluous".
It's funny what scents can do to you, isn't it?

Sillage and longevity are good. I myself smell it all day without it ever becoming too much. And the price is put into perspective when you consider what you save on powder and lipstick.
I'll be wearing it a lot this spring and summer. Hopefully the magic will stay with me for a long time..

Green butterfly
I received the Green Butterfly as a sample to test. In the opening a green, tart, forest-like powderiness, very interesting as I usually associate this powdery note more with light floral sweet accords. After that, the powderiness becomes a little less and the green note increases. It remains, to my nose at least, friendly and unisex or even feminine, it doesn't become resinous or too masculine.
Over time, I get more wood and the fragrance becomes deeper, but still remains rather moderate in its radiance. I only notice vanilla towards the DD. The longevity is good, in my case I added more at lunchtime :)

I think there couldn't be a more fitting name, in fact I can picture the butterfly all the time when I smell the fragrance. However, this butterfly is allowed to fly freely, as it does not directly match my taste in fragrances. After using up the sample, I won't be buying it again.

I would not recommend a blind buy, but the fragrance character is very original and it is not a bargain either.

Thank you for reading my review and best regards

Springtime flapping of wings
I'm normally rather reserved when it comes to blind buys. However, this one is an exception, which was an absolute hit and my first venture.
After reading a few posts and taking a closer look at the fragrance pyramid, I knew it could be a good match for us. Similarity to my favorite "Black Tie | Celine", I couldn't pass it up.

I was very lucky to get hold of a leftover bottle quickly and haven't regretted it for a second.
Green Butterfly, rarely have I found a name so fitting for a fragrance that is difficult to describe. It envelops you in a powdery-sweetness but in such a unique way that it never becomes too much. All the notes are perfectly interwoven. Chocolate fused with vanilla and suede. There are also small green accents without the typical citrus. The aldehydes remain discreetly in the background, but round off the whole perfectly.

I can understand the similarity to "Black Tie | Celine", but they are both different enough for me to have them both.

It gives me the feeling of lightness and security, like a walk in the woods on a sunny spring day surrounded by birdsong.

Anyone who likes this scent should definitely try it️
