Black - addition suitably selected
The 212 series continues. With my 212 collective order this also came to me in the bag. I've already reported about Aqua and Party fever and of course I've added this to my comment collection. After the Club Edition, Wild Party came this one in 2017, this year still the Party Fever. This is the first flanker of the VIP Sub series, which is not registered here as a limited edition. One should not overestimate, since with bad sales figures many are again stopped.
Perfumers here are Carlos Benaim and Anne Flipo. Two perfumers who have already created many coups and I also own some works. Let me start by saying that this cooperation has worked. The pyramid is not complete here: According to the CH-Homepage this fragrance also contains leather & amber, which could be true.
The bottle is like all very high-quality. Extremely heavy, solid and the look of a long drink. Plus a great magnetic lid. Here of course with matching black gradient.

Published in 2017, it is not so easy to find in Germany. Also in the Net most shops do not carry this. But I like unique scents, which not everyone has Hans and Franz. This one will remain what the sales figures probably also rather pale, if he would appear under another brand he would probably have more chances.
The Black addition is correct and has been chosen appropriately. Dark as night. It is advertised as a night fragrance that is energetic & spicy. I can only agree with you.
Unlike the silver original, this is more of a heavy fragrance, while the original still has plenty of freshness. This can therefore be worn better on colder days and as a night/party fragrance. By the way, this is an EDP, whereby the entire series radiates very strongly despite EDT.
When testing, I have to say that the DNA is easily available, but much more difficult here. The opening is much more difficult and the freshness is missing. If you need a little freshness, you won't find it here. He starts very boozy with absinthe, followed by leather and lavender. Great tuning and not cheap. Some tangy and spicy components come through, whereby the sweetness unfolds itself only clearly later correctly. The base is then very masculine due to lots of musk, comes across well and sensually in combination with vanilla and amber. All in all a great scent, which comes along noble and is not only something for young hoppers. Very high quality and well done. Elegant and not just something for the club.
Performance strong and recommended for moments where this is crucial. It radiates power and convinces with many hours of durability.

Like all the others in the series, I can only recommend Especially for cooler temperatures.
Addendum after wearing several times: The fragrance remains good and does not get on your nerves even after wearing some. It is sweet, but in return it has great masculine spiciness and tart notes. That's a great station wagon. In addition, I have closely observed the performance and have to say: A performance monster. The Sillage is good for a long time and has a shelf life of 10 hours+. Not only a clubbing fragrance, the elegance makes it very good in the dark. Especially when the sun goes down earlier there is also a great evening and leisure scent. A great counterpart to the original, which rather goes in the fresher direction. The "warms" well for the colder season and is therefore a really good counterpart to the original.

Signature VIP
I have to admit that I bought the 212 VIP Black blindly and without any premonition.
I can still remember the first time I lifted the magnetic cap off the bottle and sprayed a light expectant sprayer into the room - directly a short "Oha" went through my head...Ok ... again briefly collecting, focusing all senses and "risking" a sprayer on the skin.
Wow, that blew me away but not at all negative - the most logical conclusion I had to come to during "first contact" was: "Yes, that's exactly him! This will be my fragrance, just perfect"
He harmonizes really very beautifully in my eyes or nose, there is nothing scratchy or pungent to expose the fragrance, no penetrants occur, nothing.

The top note might discourage some of them from looking at this fragrance, or even just sniffing it - but it works and it works very well.

The vanilla, the lavender and the absinthe immediately break down all doors, after a few minutes when you are hiding under the bed from the door burglars, the tough guys come down quickly and concentrate only on the essentials with almost a similarity to poker players -> they wear strong sunglasses so you can't see their looks and don't make a face but are still always present and concentrated
Musk & Leather keep the tough guys well in check but not suppressing in any period of time.
Finally absinthe, leather, vanilla and musk sit together in a cosy round - all have the same amount of chips, all wear black sunglasses and no one dances out of line - the dealer is the lavender, he is the leader of the game ;)

For me a very good fragrance from CH - I will definitely take a closer look at the other 212 - maybe there will be a surprise or two :)

i do like the smell but it is not so unique at all
212 vip black has the absinthe note but not alcoholic at all in my opinion it is greenish type of in the opening mixed well with the ansie and fennel creating a sharp and fresh accord followed with the lavender note also mixed well with the strong base of vanilla and musk giving it the right amount of sweetness .

An unexpected favorite of mine
In short, 212 VIP Black is sweet, aromatic lavender with anise. Initially I compared it to Armani Code. It smells like a raw, musky, less sour version of Code, in which they made sure to polish the edges and make the scent well rounded and accessible, somewhat warm. Code is smooth, but tame, one could say limp, even. Here it's a similar basic theme, but bolder, very straightforward, without any adornments. Most importantly, however, it's not as sour, which is a good thing. There's a little bit of vanilla offering some sweetness.

At the start I didn't particularly like the scent, I found it uncaring, cold, and abrasive to the sinuses. This is, or was, my main problem with this fragrance - I found it very aromatic in an artificial, chemical way. I could tell why some people liked it, though - that musky vanilla in the background is nice.

With time, I came to like it more and more, to the point where it’s among the few perfumes I like the most. If you tolerate the abrasiveness of lavender, it's one of the best lavender fragrances.

Prada Luna Rossa Ocean by the same designers is somewhat similar, though much heavier and with citrus instead of vanilla - less sweet, more sour. I think of Valentino Uomo Born In Roma as a mature version of 212 VIP Black.

I would say the bottle doesn’t fit the scent at all, although if you consider black the color of Aventus and its clones, then you could say the color fits, as the perfume is not that far from the the Aventus archetype, although it’s more aromatic.

WILD PARTY IN BUDAPEST....

Fennel bomb! A very odd, but interesting note for a cologne.

Nevertheless, I'm enjoying this cologne a lot.

Even though Absinthe is the most noticeable note, I would say the fennel penetrates every note in this cologne. Anise will quickly merge with the fennel, which creates this dark and sweet scent.

In my experience, two or three sprays are more than enough since the strength of this cologne is exceptional. Too much and it will give you a headache.

Vanilla comes in very smoothly but only noticeable at the base.

This is a perfect cologne for anyone looking for a strong and unique feel at night or for colder weather.
I prefer the base of this cologne more than the opening; vanilla, lavender, and musk is a perfect combination for any evening occasion. It takes a while to get to that point though, the majority of this cologne is fennel, absinthe, and much anise.

212 VIP Black does not remind me of Paco Rabanne Pure XS at all.

Pure XS has Myrrh, sugar, and liquor notes while VIP Black has a strong fennel and anise combination.

They are similar in vibe; sweet and dark, but they're totally different! I would recommend wearing this outside to let it be carried by the cold wind, it could get too overbearing in small spaces.

Worth a blind buy if you're familiar with the 212 line-ups!

IMO 212 Black VIP works better in Spring/Summer evenings. His enigmatic BIG brother, Mercedes Benz Select Night is a Fall/Wintertime BEAST

It opens quite similar to Versace Eros or Rasasi Hawas, bubble gum sweet. Too synthetic but with an appealing sillage (lavender + vanilla).

Don't be hasty cause it ain't like CD Sauvage of PR Pure XS. Albeit it opens likewise, with dominating lavender, dry-down is sweet and musky
