In my advent calendar day at Christmas

What a wonderful fragrance was hiding in my Advent calendar for 24 days in 2023!

The fragrance DNA is not entirely unknown to me. The wheel has not been reinvented here, but it has been crafted to perfection.

Reptile is a buttery-soft, woody fragrance with a subtle spiciness. The soft suede note rounds off the fragrance perfectly.

I don't really like leather in fragrances, but here this note is so wonderfully interwoven that even I like it.

The fragrance is listed as unisex. Personally, I can imagine wearing it, but I still don't necessarily see it on a woman.

However, the longevity and silage are once again subterranean, which of course means that the price-performance ratio is also poor.

If you like woody, soft fragrances, you should definitely try it :)

A very soft reptile!

The name Reptile and the description as a perfume inspired by rock stars and their outfits sound like this could be a challenging leather fragrance, but no. It has a noticeable leather note, but it's done in the typical Celine style: understated, soft, powdery, elegant.
If this was a reptile, it would maybe be a friendly pet gecko, or even more likely: A fancy stuffed animal crocodile with real leather details. The kind you'd use as a decoration, not something for little kids to snuggle with, but still completely harmless and soft to the touch.

Right from the start this feels like a fluffy cloud of musky powder. Black pepper gives it a dry, slightly savory edge that makes it interesting, but is not overwhelmingly spicy. The leather is a gentle suede, not tannic or sharp, and the tree moss adds a subtle woodsy earthiness, the same as it does in Black Tie.
Reptile opens with a touch of sweetness that mostly vanishes in the drydown. All the current Celine scents are marketed as unisex, but this is the first one that I don't find more feminine leaning (I tried 5 of them so far). It's not really masculine either, just truly unisex. I like it a lot, even though I would prefer other Celine scents on myself.

Masculine, very masculine...! The is marketed as unisex but I can, even if you may not say it today, oops now I say it anyway, this fragrance absolutely not imagine a woman. Much too peppery and much too spicy..

How smells so reptile.. Almost exactly like my drawer with spices from around the world.... Very very peppery and super spicy.... If you grind really hot pepper in a good grinder and smell it right after, you have a very good idea of what reptile smells like.... In the background there are relatively soft woody notes... The scent reminds me a lot of the spice souks in the Emirates... An explosion of spices, literally flows up into the brain... In drydown very light leather winks through but only a hint and barely perceptible to my nose..

The scent is not sexy, the time ahead if anyone cares, not at all but very interesting and very " adult".... Not my taste but who stands on spicy peppery scents should test the. H+S is pretty good...
