Potent Beauty
I put a spot of Coco parfum on my wrist and a good 4-5 hours later it is still vividly haunting. After initial wafts of funky citrus, orange blossom hypnotically dominates the other florals. Soon enough they blend and are given a kick by cinnamon and angelica. Coco has a sultry (rather than stanky) take-no-prisoners base, that allows the scent's self-assured loveliness to linger for hours. What a perfume! It’s like being presented with a floral bouquet by a lover, a highly potent act—dining, wining, music and whispered endearments being in the same category. The courting male knows more about female biology than most medical researchers. That's because he’s carrying around that 300-1000 ng/dl of testosterone at all times, which means he has no need of inducements to think about sex. However, over millennia he has observed that females (with only 15-70 ng/dl of testosterone) are usually much less interested in coupling than he. But turn the female mind to the subject, via what we’ve come to call “romance,” and voila! A meeting of bodies is much more likely. Why fresh flowers turn women to mush I don’t know. I am personally defenseless against them, which my husband has discovered to our local florist’s delight. To me it seems an illogical response. Smelling Coco feels like those times he returns with a bouquet of flowers after a rare big tiff. Though we both know what he’s doing, darn it, it’s going to work! Coco is just as irresistible, a triumph of reliable seduction—not of the bald sex variety, like Schiaparelli's Shocking, but of romance.

All Eyes On You
Walk into a room wearing Coco Chanel, all eyes will be on you! It is a lovely perfume that demands attention. It is sexy, chic, and captivating! It is one of my absolute favorites and my first go-to for date night! The scent lingers all night, and you'll leave him wanting more! Ylang Ylang, cinnamon, patchouli, pimento and frankincense brew the perfect storm, while the orange blossom, mandarin orange, honey, Frangipani, and Jasmine calm the winds creating that perfect post-storm aura leaving and unforgettable experience. One spray is all you will need for a night full of alluring, intimate fun.

The daredevil
The fragrance is heavy, luxurious and spicy. A baroque opulence of velvety roses, coriander, civet and the finest sandalwood. It opens with a burst of spices (coriander and cloves) and then sinks into a swirl of dark velvety roses. It's kind of like Coco Chanel (EDP) on steroids. With this fragrance you can defy all the adversities of life, daring like no other!

An old new love
I've been sitting here for half an hour now, smiling all soulful......... and happy, looking forward to my new acquisition: an old "Coco (perfume) | Chanel"
In my 20s, just moved out, no longer at home with mom, but in my first apartment. Eric Clapton's "unplugged" was playing for weeks, I danced around the flat........most of the time I slept until midday, then had breakfast and went to work. In the evening, I'd go dancing or to the movies, drink red wine with my colleagues at night, have a wheat beer and a toast, just socialize. And on my day off, I would wander through the perfume shops, try out new fragrances, I had to have Diesel jeans in all colors, black pointed ankle boots and my beloved patent coat. I felt so free, so great! And I smelled so damn good, because I was wearing Coco Eau de Toilette and all the care products that came with the fragrance. And the other day, I read here about another Chanel fragrance, and it was like this: a fragrance note is definitely self-confidence - I can subscribe to that!
At some point I also tried the EdP and was overwhelmed, no, it was too much for me, I can't say what exactly, but I didn't like it. And now, after more than 30 years, I have arrived at the Extrait. And it smells just like my EdT used to, with more depth............heavy, fruity, resinous, wonderfully floral, a bit honeyed, slightly incense-like and after the first spray civet, which I don't really like in perfumes, and of course it's sweet, so I stay true to myself. I didn't know any fragrance notes before and I wouldn't have been able to tell that there was patchouli in it, for me it's fruity
I love this fragrance - it's to die for!

orage de chanel
Deep, dense and insatiable; unyielding - absolutely irresistible to me.
Chanel aptly advertised such violence in 1992 with a thunderstorm over Paris.
As beautiful as Vanessa P. - the face of the campaign - swings and whistles in it as a canary - her lightness and youthful beauty fail the actual path to Coco.
Gabrielle's self-chosen name Coco probably represents a more personal approach to an eau de Chanel and, without much conjecture, should probably also make the person Chanel more approachable - after the mistress of the house numbered almost all her fragrances with strict distance throughout her life.
But I think that the distance of the numbers is more fitting for Madame Chanel's stringent and ambitious nature - that the name Coco in its cheeky and brisk charm was actually chosen inappropriately for the lady of the house ... even if it undoubtedly has an iconic effect(s).
Above all, however, the name does not suit me for a perfume of this type.
The power that makes me smell my sprayed wrist; the sweet and spicy undertow that simultaneously combines thicket and golden glow; the baroque warmth of this perfume, which remains inviting, embracing and yet not harmlessly close - speaks for my taste for another name ... if not for a number.
The aforementioned advertisement for the perfume nevertheless captures Esprit Cocos perfectly - in its overall impression of playfulness and dark elegance. The twitching of the lightning that illuminates the Place Vendôme also illuminates a sumptuously morbid ambience: Chanel's apartment at 31 Rue Cambon. A grotesque, almost ghostly place - magnificent, dusty, gloomy. Just as a thunderstorm darkens the sky, Chanel's apartment is depicted in contrast. Gloomy marble and textiles are broken up by a radiant bottle of Coco, a white Persian cat and Madame Chanel herself, leaning against the window in a white tweed, surveying the weather situation.
Wetted with a drop or two of Coco, she blurs in the shot; blurs in this scene of sublimity and solitude.
I've always loved thunderstorms; loved witnessing their violence in safety, making me feel even more secure. You couldn't have chosen more appropriate weather for Coco.
