My Amber Number 33

Chopard - Amber Malaki

.
As you like it - harmony and change

Incense and orange blossom in jumelage. A tremendous beginning. Balsamic, spicy, lush, intoxicating. And a sting. A sting like rhubarb or green, freshly cut twigs and sour papyrus. Papyrus, opulent like the original Nile. Grassy, almost dull. Slightly rotten green. Reminiscent of the Sudd.

Then with force! Princely Amber appears. In medium brown, in medium sweet, in medium wet. Opulent. Nothing is light and ethereal yet. No, there is abundance here and the fine cistus fights its way slowly but resolutely into the limelight. The ingredients have conquered their stage.

The curtain opens wide for a royal wedding. For the jumelage of amber and vanilla. Incredibly persistent, warm and delicate, flattering and light. Continuous applause.

And the hero is called Malaki. Is called Vanilla. No, Amber. No vanilla. No Amber ...

Welcome to Amber Paradise!
... or in Amber Wonderland it would be too.

First of all you have to deal with a very, very rare scent. The distribution was rather outside of Europe and in the USA. The fragrance is one of three from the Malaki series of Chopard.

Only 4 users have the scent here and only a nice perfuma had it at all in Germany.

The fragrance combines many facets and is composed very high quality.

First welcome an incense note with orange blossom before the golden amber with bourbon vanilla appears.

It smells oriental-sweet with incense streaked and a freshness of orange blossom. The Bourbon vanilla gives the sweetness in the base.

I smell here 3 scents in one out.
Gaultier2, The One for Men, CH Men Grand Tour (all vintage).
Amber Malaki is a mixture of them matched with additional incense, but still individual as an independent fragrance. Despite the similarities, this fragrance is of a higher quality than all 3 can be.

That's what the price says, though. A new flacon 80ml is traded with about 180-200 Euro in Germany, if you get a new one.

It is not as hard as Gaultier2, finer than The One for Men and more balanced than CH Men Grand Tour.

The bottle is solid and heavy with a noble, brushed copper-coloured lid.

This bottle is definitely the rarest in my collection so far.

An Exceptional Offering to Round Out My Collection
If Chopard continue to make stunning perfumes like their Malaki series, I will have to continue to buy them! The latest, Amber Malaki, is the best one yet. Its name does not fit it but the scent itself is probably one of the best I have smelled in a long time.

First of all, this is not the traditional amber fragrance one comes to expect. It is not dry or smoky. There is a juiciness here, and resins. I am going to copy another reviewer and declare that this smells like prunes soaked in Calvados. Dark, fruity, resinous, sweet but balanced: I would love this on a man but am hogging it all for myself.

The bottle is superb, as always, sillage is very strong but not overpowering and the lasting power pretty good. I would argue that when a perfume has a great complex smell, a distinct character, lasts and projects AND has a good price, it is a total success. Totally satisfying final bottle to round out my collection and take a long break from new perfumes.

Surprisingly good!
I would not have thought that I would like it so much. It smells very smoky at the beginning (incense) but you shouldn't let yourself be put off here, it gets warmer and warmer after a while (I think due to the amber + vanilla note) and more spicy/woody. I rather like the sillage or fragrance atmosphere that it leaves on me, it smells very nice and not at all when you smell it so directly. The fragrance development is great. It also smells great on my boyfriend, yes it is rather masculine but I think women can also use/wear it. Longevity is good, sillage is quite ok.

Yummy amber
I had been waiting for it for months...after having read everything about the collection, I hesitated a lot between Amber, oud and incense. Finally I ve decided on amber because it is one of my favorite materials since childhood. here we have a spicy, almost luminous golden amber. the start is a little dry (by incense I think) then the spices burst, warming the juice. The dry down becomes rounded, almost sweet but not cloying. I smell like a note of plum or prunes in the middle of the heat spices, a slightly smoky background. definitely very classy, very sophisticated. I liked it from the start but the drying opened my heart. so glad he's finally mine. the bottle is sublime. the price is mini considering the quality of the bottle and the juice.

Amber Malaki is an oriental, sweet, spicy. The amber is resinous, blended with an alluring vanilla. Balsamic, woody, a bit animalic, incensy
