An Exceptional Offering to Round Out My Collection
If Chopard continue to make stunning perfumes like their Malaki series, I will have to continue to buy them! The latest, Amber Malaki, is the best one yet. Its name does not fit it but the scent itself is probably one of the best I have smelled in a long time.

First of all, this is not the traditional amber fragrance one comes to expect. It is not dry or smoky. There is a juiciness here, and resins. I am going to copy another reviewer and declare that this smells like prunes soaked in Calvados. Dark, fruity, resinous, sweet but balanced: I would love this on a man but am hogging it all for myself.

The bottle is superb, as always, sillage is very strong but not overpowering and the lasting power pretty good. I would argue that when a perfume has a great complex smell, a distinct character, lasts and projects AND has a good price, it is a total success. Totally satisfying final bottle to round out my collection and take a long break from new perfumes.

Yummy amber
I had been waiting for it for months...after having read everything about the collection, I hesitated a lot between Amber, oud and incense. Finally I ve decided on amber because it is one of my favorite materials since childhood. here we have a spicy, almost luminous golden amber. the start is a little dry (by incense I think) then the spices burst, warming the juice. The dry down becomes rounded, almost sweet but not cloying. I smell like a note of plum or prunes in the middle of the heat spices, a slightly smoky background. definitely very classy, very sophisticated. I liked it from the start but the drying opened my heart. so glad he's finally mine. the bottle is sublime. the price is mini considering the quality of the bottle and the juice.

A wonderful amber from Chopard - recommended for all amber lovers.
Amber Malaki is an excellent amber perfume from Chopard designed by Amandine Clerc-Marie. It is cheaper, sweeter and more interesting than other amber perfumes like Serge Lutens Ambre Sultan and Maison Francis Kurkdjian Grand Soir. The entire Malaki line from Chopard is worth investigating. They all use well-known perfumers (e.g. Ropion and Morillas) and are relatively inexpensive. This review is based on a full bottle of Amber Malaki that I bought from Jomashop for $54.

This perfume does not have a clearly demarcated olfactory pyramid. It is safe to say that it is a beautiful amber with minor variations in color as it progresses on your skin. According to Chopard, it opens with frankincense and orange blossom. Both are there, but you need to search for the orange blossom note hidden underneath. Still, it is beautiful, nonetheless. The heart notes are amber and papyrus, followed by labdanum and vanilla in base notes. Given that amber is typically labdanum and vanilla, it is unclear to me if the heart notes are different from the base notes. They smell very similar to me. Papyrus is not a note my nose can pick up amid these beautiful resins.

The performance of Amber Malaki is very good. I can smell the amber on my skin 6-8 hours after the initial application. The sillage is fine, but modest as expected for an elegant amber. This will work fine as an office fragrance as it is elegant and inoffensive.

I would recommend Amber Malaki without hesitation to all amber lovers. In my opinion, it is better value than both Ambre Sultan and Grand Soir. The perfumer makes the amber intriguing by changing the resins along the olfactory pyramid.

Amber Malaki
A wonderful scent from a house that I know not much about but I intend to educate myself.

Amber Malaki is a semi sweet masculine leaning scent that stays on my skin for hours and gets lots of attention from other people.

I wholeheartedly intend to pick up every masculine that's made in the Malaki line. The price is moderate so there shouldn't be too many obstacles for me.

I like this one a lot, even though sweet juices are not really my thing. The fragrance may not be for the older crowd but the fact that I'm a collector I must always keep my options open for just about anything.

My Amber No. 33

Chopard - Amber Malaki

.
As you like it - Harmony and Change

Frankincense and orange blossom in jumelage. A powerful beginning. Balsamic, spicy, lush, intoxicating. And a sting. A sting like rhubarb or green, freshly cut branches and sour papyrus. Papyrus, opulent like the original Nile. Grassy, almost blunt. Slightly decayed green. Reminiscent of the Sudd.

Then with force! Regal amber appears. In medium brown, in medium sweetness, in medium moisture. Opulent. Nothing is light and ethereal yet. No, here abundance reigns and the fine cistus slowly but surely fights its way into the spotlight. The ingredients have conquered their stage.

The curtain opens wide for a royal wedding. For the jumelage of amber and vanilla. Incredibly lasting, warm and delicate, flattering and light. Lasting applause.

And the hero is called Malaki. Is called vanilla. No amber. No vanilla. No amber ....

Almost persistent over time.
Rating 7.5 - new.

Amber Malaki is an oriental, sweet, spicy. The amber is resinous, blended with an alluring vanilla. Balsamic, woody, a bit animalic, incensy

This has a unique place of its own amongst one of the best fragrances. The amber is heavily dominant but also real smooth in a cold dry weather.

The idea of refining O-blossom with incense and placing it on a sweet-spicy amber base is very successful, especially since the bitter rock rose...

It's really beautiful. Frankincense, rock rose, and orange blossom provide an interesting counterbalance to the amber sweetness. It has a fine medicinal quality.

Herod as a fragrance twin?! Come on. That's a stretch.
Dusty amber meets a spice explosion. Vanilla hums softly along.
