Galbanum Chypré
The first hour is a creamy soapy bergamot setting the tone. Measured by the time of appearance of the fragrance, shortly after the 2nd World War, absolutely comprehensible and above all fitting. Increasingly, warm, slightly resinous chords that lie above light wood become more perceptible.

In the background pulsates, evenly calm, a nice dose of oakmoss and very light musk.

The fragrance is reserved and at the same time not superficially fresh, as is usually the case with chypre, but leaves more room for the galbanum resin and the cypress.

I feel it rather as EDT and above all unisex. Here one can safely assume that still the "old", today antiquated, separation of the sexes in fragrances led to the expulsion of men's fragrances.

With a good 6 hours of presence on my skin, before it goes into the drydown - with clearly more skin proximity, one may and should dose the fragrance a little higher.

It captivates by its simplicity and elegance. From a time when understatement was important. So still very appropriate.

Unfortunately, the findability and availability of this fragrance is a mystery to me.

Otherwise I would not have a 50ml Decant in my collection, but a whole bottle
