Oud Zarian Creed 2025

Oud Zarian from the French House of Perfumery of Haute Luxury Creed is a Oriental Spicy Woody Smoky Amber Unisex perfume. This is a brand new fragrance which launched in August 2025; and the nose behind this fragrance is the talented perfumer Cécile Zarokian. The Oud Choron Jalali rooted in time aged for 8 decades long that resides in the soul of the Oud Zarian is a unique treasure, carefully harvested by trusted partner Jalali Agarwood, from trees hidden deep in the forests of Sylhet, in the famous Assam region of northeastern Bangladesh.

Oud Zarian opens with a fleeting citrus burst of bergamot, and already highlighting the intriguing warmth and brightness of a hearty dose of ginger very present, tempered by spices and a fresh green cardamom blowing a bit of an aromatic freshness between its cracks in this rather spicy beginning. A great effervescent prelude that radiates heat and already blending with a smoky mist by an excellent incense, making clear an arabesque identity and bringing a smoky aspect incensed right at the start. A vivid and inviting opening, paving the way for the aromatic sensory journey to come.

At the center of this composition is established around this mystical incense and a refined floral elegance of the velvety May rose that with its fresh and subtle sweetness brings that classic elegant traditional Creed feel. This interaction of the rose with the 'oud and the frankincense creates a fragrant core with a radiant and powerful silky texture, resulting in Creed's first wonderful 'Oud & Rose. All this intertwining with a spicy accord. From here it was already clear the complexity of the composition and with a construction surprisingly completely outside the Brand's DNA. Which has excellent performance too!

At the base, Oud Zarian is anchored in the warmth of hot, woody, smoky resins, with emphasis on the 'oud Choron of Jalali, with its 'agarwood wood, processed and aged for years on end for decades. This is an 'oud with a unique softness and subtlety, the 'oud the older it is usually the less aggressive; Here it offers a soft sweet nuance [without animalic elements] with woody, slightly leathery and dark earthy facets. This 'oud contains no challenge or difficulty... Not least because a small amount of this precious resin was used. More 'oud would be very good, but it would be even more daring for Creed.

Towards drying, patchouli further enhances this earthy and aromatic complexity, and tonka with liquorice contributes to a sweetness that is amber and bittersweet at the same time. Sandalwood imparts its characteristic creamy, woody warmth, while smoky, slightly sweet myrrh adds a balsamic resinous nuance and a sweet smokiness on drydown. The essence of this fragrance is marked by luxury and sophistication, complexity and intensity incomparable to other creations of the House. Without a doubt, Oud Zarian starts a new chapter in Creed!
