Cute!

The name, the typography, the advertising, the bottle, the perfume color, the scent: it’s all so cute! And everything that is so cute, so adorable, so in need of protection, so innocent, so cheerful, so carefree, so playful, you just have to like it, right?

Although Miss Dior Chérie is not at all my usual type, I like the scent. It doesn’t set my heart on fire, but I don’t feel the need to wash it off immediately either. It lies somewhere in between, in this vast spectrum between "Oh my God, fantastic!" and "Oh my God, terrible!".

Here is a fruity sweetness that narrowly avoids being squeaky. Strongly fruity sweet, yes, but very well done. The orange note is quite pronounced and also used in an interesting way: on one hand, it gives a kind of citrusy fruitiness, and on the other, and this is exciting, a dense, full, bittersweet sweetness. I don’t smell the flowers in the heart note at all, but rather something like strawberries and a hint of caramel or roasted or smoky sugar.

And if it ended here, the cute factor would be perfectly satisfied. But: it goes on. And from this point on, the scent is really well made. Now comes patchouli. Clever! Amid all the cuteness, Miss Dior Chérie has an adult, noble, and confident facet that makes this fragrance something special. I now detect a certain similarity to Chanel Coco Mademoiselle in the base, while Miss Dior Chérie remains very distinctively fruity-sweet. The cuter Coco Mademoiselle, so to speak.

Anyone looking for fruity-sweet with a bit of depth should definitely give this one a try. Adorable without being silly, so to speak.

Great comment! I tested the EdP, but now I guess I have to get to know the quirky little sister too. :-)

Pheli, I confess: I don't know the EdP (yet). But I've read that it's much sweeter - that sounds rather awful to my ears *g*
