Fascinating complex jungle
On a blotter it opens sharp and cool the way it's supposed to be, but on me it's a little weird, like warmed-up lime which isn't very nice. The dry-down is actually really beautiful, though. I smell the bergamot and petitgrain a lot, keeping it fresh, but the Peru balsam note grounds it all and helps the other notes last and shine. While it never turns into a full-on woody scent, it's great because it is deep and almost full-bodied, yet still fresh and bright.
And of course, as people often mention online, it smells fancy, expensive, luxurious. And yet it's not your typical rich-person-smell (do I even know what I mean by this? I don't know), it doesn't feel like the perfume is trying to show off its opulence. It has an ancient energy to it, I can almost see Odysseus wearing this in an oil form brought for him to Ithaca. Really beautiful, wearable and long-lasting, and still it makes a statement.
