A second chance
I do not write many reviews, because I often think to myself - oh that can others so much better than me. To this fragrance, however, I would definitely like to write something, because he has developed in practically from 0 to 100 to one of my absolute favorite fragrances. And that, although I had already completely written him off.
I had participated in a sharing and the bottling of l'Eau Papier (such a beautiful name!) arrived with some other fragrances. So when I sprayed him the first time, I had already tested some other, much more intense fragrances, so I could not really smell him at all. Even the second time, I only smelled a hint of sweet synthetic notes, so I put the scent aside as a "flop". Luckily, I gave the bottling another chance.... I wanted something light, barely perceptible that day, as I was heading to the gym later in the day.... And hours later, while I was there so vor sich hinsportelte suddenly came to me a warm fragrance...I could not believe that this should be L'Eau Papier. Thereupon I have worn the fragrance directly again and lo and behold - suddenly I could perceive him wonderfully and he left a great silage.

L'Eau Papier has in the top note for me a very wonderful, warm "rice note", which smells at the same time edible, but also somehow synthetic. It's hard to describe, it just smells comfortingly warm without being gourmand. Then the fragrance becomes slightly floral for me and yet there remains this almost "spicy" rice note discreetly in the background.... Sweet, but somehow not. Edible, but somehow also not. A paradox! And directly on the skin, this fragrance really shines enormously, so that I get even hours after application again and again briefly wafted the fragrance. But not in a penetrating, intense way - but delicate, airy and "pure".
I think the people in my environment perceive him not so intense. With other fragrances, I am at least more often addressed. L'Eau Papier is thus a fragrance that I really wear exclusively for me - actually, I wear it almost every day by now.... Sometimes in the evening, sometimes in the afternoon, rarely in the morning as a "first scent" - but that also happens. Meanwhile, I gave my remaining bottle to my mother, who also loves the fragrance.

To the design of Diptyque need not lose many words: I find the flacons are small works of art, filigree and a bit "bohemian" with their squiggly images. Diptyque is of course no insider tip, nevertheless, the fragrances are very special for me. Elegant - but with a twist.

The average rating on Parfumo I can understand despite my gushing enthusiasm. Not many people will love the fragrance as I do - because it is probably not so special. But it is worth a try! :)

If only I didn't need so much of it...
I have never emptied a 50ml bottle in 8 weeks. Here I have! The scent is clean, soothing and the roasted sesame makes it very special. I smelled it for the first time at Breuninger and had to take it right away. Once home I applied very regularly from then on, however I always had to spray it more than over. 10 sprays are my minimum here, otherwise I smell him unfortunately not. Therefore, he was also so quickly empty. I had doubts whether I will repurchase him in 100ml, because he just has such a blatant consumption. After a reflection and a few days of abstinence, however, it was clear that he simply belongs in my collection and was re-bought. That is already something with us crazy perfume junkies. He is simply too beautiful. An "easyreach" for me.

For exceptionally ordinary days
I was directly curious at the fragrance notes.
Something I did not know...
Heavy fragrances are usually more my thing, but at some point you have to admit that the world can not smell you then sometimes.
This fragrance is therefore perfect for me, if I do not want to overwhelm my environment and still do not want to use a "0/8/15" perfume. Soetwas I have until now simply not yet smelled.

The strongest I get the sesame and rice scent. The musk adds the whole thing to a creamy composition together.
Gradually it becomes woodier, which makes the sesame and rice steam even better.

The fragrance has a clean and creamy feel. An absolute white T-shirt fragrance.
It's understated, but has enough depth to be interesting and gets warmer with time.
So he does not shine too blatantly and therefore does not interfere.
Absolutely unisex!

Sticky rice nostalgia
This fragrance is mostly carried by a beautifully realistic steamed rice note. More specifically, it carries the smell of the "sticky rice herb", or Nuo Mi Xiang, Semnostachya Menglaensis (I don't know any English name for it), which is sometimes used to scent teas.

Here the steamed rice (or rather sticky rice herb) is combined with subtle roasted sesame and blonde woods, which creates an association with bamboo chopsticks and furniture. It is a bit sweet on my skin, like some rock sugar was added.

If there is any paper here, like the name suggest, it is rice or bamboo paper. Or maybe it is the rice itself, delicious as it is, but asking to be painted with colorful condiments.

After a while the white musk gains in prominence, although the sticky rice herb stays for a pretty long time as well. Near the end - after about 5 hours - it's mostly musk and bamboo wood.

I don't think it projects very far after the first hour (unless you use more than two sprays), but it is not a skin scent either. It seems to hover about 20 cm above the skin for hours.

It's hard to rate this scent. It's definitely interesting and something I did not smell in perfume before, but not for all-day or frequent wear. In any case, I don't see myself wearing this outside of my house or even when having visitors. However, I tend to associate steamed rice with childhood family cooking, hence making this a very soothing scent for me, especially the opening and the first hour. Even then, I tend to find the phase where the musk starts to overpower slightly suffocating.

In sum, a very interesting fragrance to sample and try, but definitely not a blind buy.

Savoury skin scent
A "your-skin-but-better" scent in the genre of Glossier You or JHAG Not A Perfume. That Iso E Super woody base note is prominent, but the steamed rice accord is savoury and cozy. The mimosa plays a supporting role, but definitely adds a slight uplifting freshness to the scent. Really easy to wear but comforting in the best way possible.

If you like skin scents, this is perfect. Gorgeous steamy rice & powdery musk. Sesame is a nice touch. A+ blending. Linear & soft.

Hard for me to categorize or explain, but I adore it (now). Does it smell like paper or ink? No. Does it make me think of books? Yes.

I imagine it full of contrasts, dry with rice and sesame, moist with musk and mimosa. An oxymoron, I can't wait to try it!
