A second chance
I do not write many reviews, because I often think to myself - oh that can others so much better than me. To this fragrance, however, I would definitely like to write something, because he has developed in practically from 0 to 100 to one of my absolute favorite fragrances. And that, although I had already completely written him off.
I had participated in a sharing and the bottling of l'Eau Papier (such a beautiful name!) arrived with some other fragrances. So when I sprayed him the first time, I had already tested some other, much more intense fragrances, so I could not really smell him at all. Even the second time, I only smelled a hint of sweet synthetic notes, so I put the scent aside as a "flop". Luckily, I gave the bottling another chance.... I wanted something light, barely perceptible that day, as I was heading to the gym later in the day.... And hours later, while I was there so vor sich hinsportelte suddenly came to me a warm fragrance...I could not believe that this should be L'Eau Papier. Thereupon I have worn the fragrance directly again and lo and behold - suddenly I could perceive him wonderfully and he left a great silage.

L'Eau Papier has in the top note for me a very wonderful, warm "rice note", which smells at the same time edible, but also somehow synthetic. It's hard to describe, it just smells comfortingly warm without being gourmand. Then the fragrance becomes slightly floral for me and yet there remains this almost "spicy" rice note discreetly in the background.... Sweet, but somehow not. Edible, but somehow also not. A paradox! And directly on the skin, this fragrance really shines enormously, so that I get even hours after application again and again briefly wafted the fragrance. But not in a penetrating, intense way - but delicate, airy and "pure".
I think the people in my environment perceive him not so intense. With other fragrances, I am at least more often addressed. L'Eau Papier is thus a fragrance that I really wear exclusively for me - actually, I wear it almost every day by now.... Sometimes in the evening, sometimes in the afternoon, rarely in the morning as a "first scent" - but that also happens. Meanwhile, I gave my remaining bottle to my mother, who also loves the fragrance.

To the design of Diptyque need not lose many words: I find the flacons are small works of art, filigree and a bit "bohemian" with their squiggly images. Diptyque is of course no insider tip, nevertheless, the fragrances are very special for me. Elegant - but with a twist.

The average rating on Parfumo I can understand despite my gushing enthusiasm. Not many people will love the fragrance as I do - because it is probably not so special. But it is worth a try! :)

Will you take me to bed?
L'Eau Papier is not a surprise fragrance for me and I love that about it. When I read the fragrance notes, I knew that I would like it. But I only realized how much I like this fragrance when I wore it.

For the first few minutes, I mainly just smell the sesame and the woods. This makes the fragrance woody and unsweet at the beginning. A few minutes later, rice and mochus join in. Now the fragrance becomes woody, creamy and slightly sweet. When that happens, I'm in seventh heaven. It smells like warm, minimally sweetened rice pudding. It immediately takes me back to my childhood and I start to feel so good. I feel balanced, calm and happy.

This is exactly why I have been wearing this fragrance regularly to sleep since I got the bottle. I never used to understand why people wear a fragrance to sleep. Since I got L'Eau Papier, I understand. Never before have I felt so comfortable when falling asleep. But of course I also wear this fragrance during the day every now and then.

The fragrance is rather calm, and the longevity and sillage are accordingly. It could be a little louder in that respect, but otherwise I think it's perfect all round.

First read in ...
After many people raved about Diptyque, I finally ventured into the company's range. I was skeptical at first, as the fresh and green fragrances are not really my cup of tea. However, I was pleasantly surprised by this fragrance, as it unfolds differently on the skin than on paper - an irony that is already in the name.

On paper, the perfume is much more musky and lighter, perhaps even simpler. On the skin, however, a fascinating paper and rice note unfolds, which, in combination with woody nuances, conveys a feeling of steamed rice in a wooden bowl - in a homely and clean way.

About 20 minutes after application, a surprising twist occurs as the fragrance takes on a slightly citrusy note. I'm not normally a fan of citrus scents as they often smell like cologne or glass cleaner to me. Initially, I was inclined to write a disappointed review praising the initial notes, only to report a decline.

But I gave the fragrance a second chance, and I have to say, it enchanted me. This is remarkable, especially for someone like me who doesn't normally appreciate citrusy freshness. The fragrance has a straightforward progression, with the rice and woody notes persisting and only becoming slightly fruitier and more floral over time.

The fruity citrus note, whether from the mimosa or otherwise, comes across as dry, but after a settling-in period, it no longer bothers me. It's almost as if a baked, sweet, dehydrated lemon was squeezed between the pages of a book, leaving behind a unique, fresh, yet light scent.

Overall, I find this fragrance to be original, refreshing, light and aesthetically pleasing. Simply unique. It is now at the top of my wish list.

If only I didn't need so much of it...
I have never emptied a 50ml bottle in 8 weeks. Here I have! The scent is clean, soothing and the roasted sesame makes it very special. I smelled it for the first time at Breuninger and had to take it right away. Once home I applied very regularly from then on, however I always had to spray it more than over. 10 sprays are my minimum here, otherwise I smell him unfortunately not. Therefore, he was also so quickly empty. I had doubts whether I will repurchase him in 100ml, because he just has such a blatant consumption. After a reflection and a few days of abstinence, however, it was clear that he simply belongs in my collection and was re-bought. That is already something with us crazy perfume junkies. He is simply too beautiful. An "easyreach" for me.

Rice cakes or dog paws?
I really wanted to try this fragrance because of the good reviews, it was also viral on TikTok. Everyone feels differently about fragrances, but it has nothing to do with paper. I rarely make a face at perfume, but I definitely looked very shocked at this one. It reminds me of rice cakes and warm dog paws when the dog lies snuggled up in the blanket and sleeps for hours. I don't need to spend €100 on this.

If you like skin scents, this is perfect. Gorgeous steamy rice & powdery musk. Sesame is a nice touch. A+ blending. Linear & soft.

Would be nice if those top notes persisted. Bergamot, iris, poudre de riz. Unfortunately degrades into a creamy white musk and ambrox base

Hard for me to categorize or explain, but I adore it (now). Does it smell like paper or ink? No. Does it make me think of books? Yes.

Beautifull opening burst of creamy and clean woods. With some sesame, Fresh laundry all over. To only disappoint in an ambroxan dry down

Perfect representation of its name! For folks who want to smell extra nice, but not really like a fragrance. Subtle, but pleasant. Enjoyable
