Dita von Teese Dita von Teese 2011

I always associate Dita von Teese, representative of New Burlesque, with that champagne glass scene! She sits naked in a full glass of champagne and somehow she always looks quite lovely and shy in all the pictures - or am I imagining that?
Well, I find her first perfume to be shy as well…
I went into Müller, saw the beautiful black bottle that looked very elegant and really had a touch of that 1920s elegance.

To be honest, I expected a real bombshell… Maybe a second Agent Provocateur for the femme fatale, because such a fragrance direction also suits a "classy stripper"!
Instead, I was really pleasantly surprised that this is more of a perfume for me ;)
Very fresh and herbal in the opening, absolutely not overpowering. I really liked that…
I perceive nice woody notes and somehow the whole thing reminds me of J’adore by Dior? I tried to find the similarity with Poison, but Poison has always been really sweet for me.
Dita von Teese is fresh, woody from start to finish, and absolutely no trace of sweetness.
Somehow I like it - a nice everyday scent and absolutely worth the money at that price.
One should not really let the bottle and name confuse them!
