Bohème or Bohême?
Recently, the perfume named “La Femme Bohème” has landed in my collection.
I believed that Bohème and Bohême are the same expression. And I couldn't understand what the “Czech” woman has in common with the woman “Bohème” (Bohemian)?
I imagine a Bohemian as an unconventional woman who does not shy away from adventures. A woman who is not afraid to be different or striking, and to rebel. In my opinion, animalic or smoky scents correspond to such a woman, while floral ones are more aligned with tuberose or hyacinth.
In the circle of women around me who are interested in niche perfumery, I believe there are only a few Bohemians/Bohêmes. They may certainly enjoy various niche perfumes, but not too many “Bohème” perfumes.
Conversely, I would definitely find many women in the Czech Republic who smell similar to this perfume - if only they knew about it :)
They are good mothers who lovingly care for their children, cook for them, bake sweet treats, and prepare linden blossom or jasmine tea with honey.
This is indeed how the perfume La Femme Bohème smells.
So this scent should rather be named “LA FEMME BOHÊME”.
(Although I am sure that there are millions of women around the world who care for their families with great love and attention).
