rosy ouds

As I dont really like oud scents, I decided too buy this one to try if I can learn to appreciate oud. This is a rose oud with a touch of white musk. Not as harsh as I most oud scents find. I shall wear it in the colder weather and use is very light handed coz ouds are strong

Incredible!

An oud fragrance without a comment? That can't be right. This travel package has been on the road for a while, and there's only a little left in the bottle.
So then:
"Oud Royal" starts with a beautifully soft smoky oud. The rose is just a side note. Whether the oud is real or synthetic, I can't say.
Oud takes on a medicinal scent with certain other ingredients. I once accidentally experienced this when I sprayed another fragrance over an oud scent that smelled very authentic. To my surprise, the oud turned medicinal.
It doesn't really matter. "Oud Royal" smells smoky and just slightly medicinal. But I like that. I also enjoy the subtle rose. White musk?
Could be, I don't smell it; maybe it tones down the rose. What bothers me about this fragrance is the sandalwood note. The "Oud Royal" is underlaid with a doughy note throughout its entire development, quite sticky, although not dominating, but noticeable to me.
Perhaps the musk also caused this reaction.
Those who enjoy distinctly noticeable sandalwood notes will find this fragrance satisfying. This oil perfume settles within a few minutes and has impressive longevity regarding its durability and the moderate, but always consistently lingering sillage.

Ripe rose and oud against the sandalwoody background. Musk rounds the edges, but has soapiness as a price.

Compared to Montale Black Aoud, it's very similar and for just 4 euros - if you like rose and are looking for a good H & S, this is the right choice - still available in stores!
