Le Parfum Lumière Elie Saab 2021

This sunbeam fragrance was created in part by Francis Kurkdjian. For me, the scent embodies the most beautiful season, summer. Sunrays captured in a bottle. Your favorite outfit hugs you on sun-warmed skin in the summer breeze. The fragrance starts with a woody component, zesty mandarin, which becomes creamier over time. Jasmine, woods, creamy gardenia, and tuberose, these skin caressers merge together. Ylang Ylang does not trample this feminine, noble scent underfoot. To be honest, I don't need any other fragrance for summer now. It brings everything I personally believe a soft yet expressive summer perfume should have. No synthetic, childish screaming fruit basket version plus coconut bomb. What develops on the skin after about 45 minutes, entering a symbiosis, is personally breathtaking for me. The ultimate. Better discovered late than never. There's nothing more to say about it now. I'm simply enjoying this fragrance. 2 to 3 sprays are completely sufficient.

A classic "mature ladies" fragrance.
With distinct Ylang-Ylang and unmistakable Jasmine. Despite the dominant nectar-sweet and spicy flowers, it is rather a cool scent.

It reminds me of the old lady who used to live in the apartment above us and would meet with her widow friends for coffee on Sundays. For me, it smells very tidy and elegant, but also old-fashioned.
Nonetheless, I can also imagine it very well on young people, provided they exude a corresponding style.

I would attribute sensuality to a person wearing this fragrance, but also distance and perhaps arrogance.

For me, this is truly a sunny fragrance. Very warm, initially briefly fruity-
citrusy; Ylang-Ylang makes an appearance and it smells overall very intense.
The tuberose comes across to me as rather smooth or even buttery. Perhaps more delicately melting. Other green aspects that might appear are missing. Jasmine can be easily detected, but here it is not as full-bodied as in Jasmin Rouge by TF or Jasmine Sambac & Marigold by Malone (which can certainly compete with TF) or Jasmin Noir by Bvlgari, yet this fits the radiant concept. All three mentioned comparison fragrances are heavier and somehow less sweet. This one feels a bit more tropical, brighter, and there might be a strange "solar accord" that gives it an additional synthetic touch.
The synthetics do not have an unpleasant effect on me, only leaving a slight discomfort that broadens a bit towards the base. Ambroxan is probably lurking somewhere.
Woods and amber do not provide the heaviness one might expect.
Overall, the fragrance feels friendly, warm, and radiant. In this regard, I can draw a parallel to Amarige.
The latter appeals to me more in its development, feeling rounder, more natural, but also more romantic, fuller, and spicier.
This perfume is brighter and more modern in its aura; I envision a silk slip dress, lemon yellow, short, but not really indecently short, on a fragile female figure, while Amarige rather evokes images of bridal gowns created by Elie Saab. Richly adorned with many crystals and embroideries, wide crinoline or tulle skirts. These dresses seem to float like clouds over the dance floor. This impression may be distorted considering the weight of such dresses. Le Parfum Lumière is certainly not a light fragrance with its rich sweet floral aromas and fruity elements, but the timbre is pleasantly buoyant. Somehow, I like the beginning the most; I enjoy the fruity sparkle mixed with Ylang-Ylang and jasmine.
The orange blossom comes forward, possibly also a hint of pepper.
As it develops, it becomes a bit creamier. I once used a cream enriched with jasmine oil, with a slight citrus undertone. Here, this type of scent has been intensified and sweetened. The base feels rather artfully woody, but in this case, I overlook that, as the remaining ingredients, which are somewhat reduced compared to the heavy artillery of this type of perfume, last long. After all, one does not constantly have their nose at the scented spot.
Overall, I prefer Amarige a bit more, yet I also quite like this concept. In my opinion, many new releases lack flower power. Sometimes it can be a bit kitschy, but only sometimes.
