Fresh clean aquatic feminine

Ella K’s Pluie Sur Ha Long. When I say this is the perfect clean floral, I mean it hands down, one of the best I’ve ever smelled. Lotus, water lily, magnolia, neroli, and cyclamen come together in a beautifully soft, sweet, and aquatic composition. Even someone who typically avoids florals would have to admit this one is stunning. This is the perfect clean girl scent and will be perfect for the hot weather!

Fresh rhubarb, dreamy florals

I heard that Pluie sur Ha Long smelled like a high end version of D&G L'Imperatrice, which is one of my all-time favorite summer scents, so I got very curious. At first I was a bit disappointed because the similarity is not as high as I expected. PSHL is much more floral and less fruity.

I think the rhubarb note is what makes people think of L'Imperatrice. It's done in the same way. Not overly sour, but not a thick and heavy rhubarb pie either, just a juicy, fresh, slightly sweet and slightly tart rhubarb. Mixed with the pink pepper it has a nice fruity-spicy zing. The rest of the scent is a dewy, aquatic floral. Aquatic like a clean, serene pond with blooming flowers in it, not like the ocean, so I find it funny that this is named after a bay. On the other hand I have never been to Ha Long, so what do I know... Maybe the rain there really smells like this.
A light and creamy white musk anchors the scent. The rhubarb is almost gone in the base, it just adds a light rosy tone to the transparent florals.

To my surprise I like the dreamy, ethereal drydown better than the opening. My first impression was "L'Imperatrice, but not as fruity and fun", but then the scent grew on me. It's fresh and clean, but doesn't feel sterile. Makes me think of spring and flowy dresses in cool pastel colors. Very pretty, a strong like for me.

Lovely on a paper strip but you do need to try it on the skin...

On a paper tester strip I loved it : it's aquatic without being too cold, there is that juiciness from the rhubard that almost reminds me of a juicy pear. I definitively get the "rain" association, a rain in a tropical warm country, with all the flowers and fruits aroma in the air. It's very alluring.
I got a spray sample of it, and unfortunately, on my skin, I predominantly get a very metallic, scritchy note, almost body odor like. Too bad, it would have been a lovely addition to my collection.
There is something about the scent (when not on my skin) that reminds me of the discontinued Viktor & Rolf EauMega.
