A woman's view

I have rarely had the pleasure of a man smelling so good that it makes me want to bury my face in his chest and neck, forever. The violet leaf is surprising and oh so sexy, it's subtle and alluring. I like that the sillage isn't across the room trying to snag any female in a 20 foot radius. I am enfolded in it when we get close. It's like a secret he's wearing for only me and I want to extend our embrace to continue enjoying it. This is my favorite scent for a man I've encountered so far. It's a definite win!

very generic ozone-acquatic with a hint of lemon dish wash aura and sinthetic mint leaves,horrible ,nauseating ,boring that's all ,projection and sillage below zero ,definitely not a must buy .

Light Green Citrus Floral

This an easy grab for summer season when you don't want attention, but want to smell nice in the thick of extremely humid weather. The fragrance is blended in such a manner that I get a cucumber resemblance. The Zegna bergamot is there as are the other notes of cedrat, galbanum, ambrox, grapefruit, Sambac jasmine, cedar, Super Hedione HC, Haitian vetiver, patchouli, violettyne captive, and musk. To me, this fragrance leans masculine by social marketing, but a woman can easily wear this on days she is tired of the sugar sweetened fruit ladened florals and gourmand fragrances that overwhelm the women's fragrance section. I use this as break from the norm and enjoy the clean nature of the scent.

Beautiful opening, that leaves far too soon

I love how this smells. An Alberto Morillas scent through, and through, right down to the non-existing performance. This will be skin scent in under an hour unfortunately, so I mainly use it for when I'm around the house or when I want something fresh right out of the shower. I love what the violet leaves do here, making it smell a bit different than your regular Italian citrus forward scents in its category, and it doesn't go gasoline-like as in fareinheint or bleecker street. I paid $20 for this at a rack store, and as such I can't complain, but not many use cases for this unfortunately as it just doesn't last very much.

The Metallic Violet

I already mentioned it in my comment on the fragrance "Zegna Z" and wrote - as secondary as the Italian brand Ermengildo Zegna may seem in the luxury fashion market - at least for me - their fragrances in the mid-price segment also appear quite inconspicuous and interchangeable.

Since the brand exclusively produces men's fashion, there are also only perfumes for men. I was able to test the latest creation with the classic and elegant name "Uomo" today. Currently, you can find the black-and-white print campaign in every men's magazine.

The glass, ribbed bottle - a masculine-looking glass column. It is symbolized and interpreted by a stone staircase in the TV spot, the famous Casa Malaparte on Capri. Endless steps lead up to a house where the horizon seems within reach.
The bottle fits smoothly in the hand and shines in the light.

Approaching the latest creation from the fashionable house without any expectations, after all, one can instinctively not expect a fragrance revolution.

The top note reveals a rather dull start. The citrus notes remain subdued.
I detect dry bergamot nuances.

Closely followed, I perceive slightly sharp, green accents - clearly the spicy violet leaf, which radiates a metallic, vibrating effect thanks to "Violettyne Captive" technology.

This accord defines the main character of Uomo and resembles, in my opinion, Hommage à L'Homme by Lalique.

The woody, bitter scent progression is underscored by spicy and cool-smelling vetiver.
In combination with aromatic cedar, the drydown is comparable to that of Acqua Di Gio Essenza.

The comparison is obvious - both fragrances were composed by the same perfumer, Alberto Morillas.

Uomo is a classic office scent that should last a good 5-6 hours!

In summary, Uomo is an attractive, pleasing, masculine, but also average, synthetically appearing newcomer that will swim along in the flood of new releases.

It does not offend, but it also does not truly stand out. An office scent and a perfume for any occasion.

PS: The fragrance is listed twice in the database. However, I use this entry because it is called Ermengildo Zegna "Uomo" and not Ermengildo Zegna "Zegna Uomo."
