A luxurious makeup powder, exquisite.
I love this perfume, it is in the vein of Dior Homme Intense, but much lighter and more distinguished, retaining that characteristic dusty touch of makeup, which is really beautiful.

Peruvian Ambrette is a fragrance of linear cut and without much evolution, an incredible scent of make-up powder on a bed of warm wood, spicy and with some other slightly dirty tinge, really charming and sophisticated. An elegant fragrance, cozy and clean, that does not bore with its monolithic essence. A vivid perfume, in spite of its few notes, like a kaleidoscope of organic, vegetal and powdered nuances, which makes the aroma feel much more complex and luxurious than its notes record.

The only evolution that presents this perfume is that, the powdered notes are decreasing in intensity throughout its development, and in the drying, the warm woody notes are more prominent, but when this happens, the aroma is already very submerged skin ras.

For me it is a much more stylized, exquisite and gallant interpretation of the classic DHI, with a lower performance, where the wake is not where it excels, staying moderate most of the time, but, if we consider its price, it is too poor performance for what it's worth.

It is an aroma of cold and temperate times, and of use, indifferently, diurnal and nocturnal. It is not a perfume of difficult use, although it would look great in formal and special events, you can dress in any occasion, without problems.

Now comes the bad of the perfume, its price, the perfume is a smell olfactory, but it makes me too expensive for what it offers, even the expensive Dior Homme Intense seems cheap at your side, so, for obvious reasons, I do not recommend it , having perfumes in the market, with similar fragrances, at a lower cost, but if, on the other hand, money is not a problem for you, and you like the style of Dior Homme Intense or Valentino Uomo Intense, you can go quietly through it, because it's not bad at all.

Sorry for my bad english.

Clear Lacquer Climate in Lima
Peru is a country that has been on my travel agenda for many years. I would love to see Machu Picchu or nibble on roasted guinea pigs (a local culinary specialty) and much more.

Hopefully, one day it will happen. But no matter who accompanies me there, Peruvian Ambrette will certainly not be one of them - after all, this fragrance does not aim to officially reflect the olfactory facets of the Andean state.

Originally, the namesake Ambrette is derived from Indian (!) musk seeds as oil and is said to have a strongly erotic scent. That may be true! However, this is less applicable to this Peruvian Ambrette.

Instead, the first seconds remind me too much of clear lacquer with minimal sweet undertones, and the following minutes evoke spilled medicine in an old wooden cabinet, which brings the coating to a simmer. The scent could just as well have been called Peruvian Oud - no one would have been surprised.
In the not-so-late drydown, everything calms down a bit and remains consistently woody, although rather cool than warm, with an intensified leathery and slightly spicy touch. That’s quite okay, but overall it feels a bit too close to the skin.

Moreover, Peruvian Ambrette raises the question of whether one couldn't wear something better from their personal collection for the day.

210 € for 125 ml of Eau de Toilette can be seen as a monetary challenge. While you do receive a fairly high-quality bottle with a magnetic closure, there’s also the feeling that there are more appealing alternatives out there!

masculine, oriental, woody...
Arrived in Dubai, sprayed on, and amazed. This is quite a powerful, smoky scent. Very masculine and somewhat a familiar contender if you want to classify it as a counterpart to Dior Homme Intense. It is just smokier, woodier, and subtly more masculine than the Dior bestseller.

The iris is suppressed from the start and completely buried under burnt woods, which quickly gave me a headache. Amber is very well integrated and always resonates nicely in the background.
The scent does not change much in its progression... no. Warm woods à la Dyptique - Tam Dao dominate the fragrance. Oriental, masculine, warm. For the cold seasons.

Those who know my comments are aware that I don't do well with incense scents. Oriental frankincense is not really my thing. Those who enjoy Dior Homme Intense mixed with Tom Ford - Sahara Noir will be pleased. That’s exactly how it smells. Longevity and sillage are good but super good for its high price.
I see it on experienced men over 50 in a stylish suit. It is indeed "Heavy Chic Stuff." As for women? No comment....

Unfortunately, not for me.

In the mood for iris? Florentine Iris by Zegna is, in my opinion, the best of the series and worth a test. You can skip this one.

A luxury interpretation of the classic Dior Homme Intense or Valentino Uomo Intense, with a price too high for what it offers.

Smells like a brand new pair of Bottega Veneta chelsea boots from 2014. Sophisticated masculine and classy, very dressy.

A humorless misanthrope retreats to his dark wood-paneled study and closes the shutters. Only then does he laugh.

Reminds me of Dior Homme but more masculine and much less sweet. Soft, yet clearly defined; I definitely prefer this!

Peppery, spicy, tangy, with a hint of iris now and then and soft wood tones in the finish. A classic unisex all-rounder.

Iris powder carrot on the wooden board. Unfragranced, but somehow entertaining.

It has a bit of varnish with minimal sweet undertones and an old wooden cabinet where some medicine was spilled.

Soft, powdery-spicy wood scent that (unfortunately) doesn't remind me of Dior Homme, leaves me cold like almost all Zegna fragrances, boring :-(

Look at that - just discovered it in the online pharmacy's selection. Maybe a traditional tincture from a Peruvian shaman?
