Escentric 02 Escentric Molecules 2008

Anyone else here ever a little girl in the early 90s who went *all in* on all sorts of crafts? Spinning, weaving, beeswax candle-making, flower pressing, cross-stitch. If the apocalypse literally happened I'm a bit worried I could actually make a go of it. Anyway, when I was eight or so I read "Wise Child" by Monica Furlong (anyone else?) and decided herb gardening was my passion. (Also, anyone else ever look back on their childhood like "that's a lot of *special interests* for a neurotypical girl to have"?) This is eight-year-old me, out in my little patch of garden, flailing about with my child-sized spade, tending my herbs. Idk, might go make some calendula ointment later.

I'm weeding the herb garden. 10/10

The individual molecules line was difficult for me to experience, but especially so with Molecule 02. I literally got nothing.

However, used in Escentric 02, I really got a better understanding of ambroxan. I couldn't quite place it until I tried Vanilla Powder Eau de Parfum, and I was immediately brought back to Escentric 02. The rest of the notes are too nuanced for me to detect.

It's much more milder than the absolute bomb that Vanilla Powder is, though. So for people who want that general musky, "there-but-not-really" type of fragrance, I think this is a solid choice.

Ambroxan smells awful to me at high doses, and that is not a defect. Precisely based on my olfactory receptor OR7A17.
There's 3 levels of ambroxan used in frags. Escentric 02 is level 3 (13%), used to monster-project that smoky scent bubble; I'd argue obnoxiously so. Smells like a hot stuffy stale damp room to me.
Happy I don't work in an office with a Mr Creed Aventus who is noseblind to ambroxan, so he reapplies more half-way through the day.
Level 1 and 2 are undetectable to me, and desirable. Level 1 (1-3%) it's used as a fixative for slow-burn performance. Level 2 (3-8%) becomes that diffusion-enhancing 'scent-bubble' we all know and love.
Molecule 01 is iso e super, and it smells very similar to ambroxan to me; repulsive at high concentrations.
Other "That's A No From Me, Dawg" fragrances I've tried that were excessive amounts of ambergris/ambroxan/clary sage/iso e super I cannot stand: Explorer/Ocean Noir/Pegasus/Rare Reef/Dylan Blue/Terre de Hermes/19 Degree/Erbas/Acqua di Gios/YSL Y....clary sage also being an offender.

This perfume is supposed to create the scent that arises when unpacking a new Apple notebook.

Additionally, it is said to contain the fragrance of the well-known lemonade "Almdudler." (Copied from the Interesting Facts section)

Neither of these was suggested to me by this scent.

Right from the start, I want to praise the sillage, which I believe has been perfectly designed here; the fragrance is made for people in love, it is just a little touch above skin-close.

The longevity of the scent leaves nothing to be desired; I could detect the fragrance on my skin for a good 13 (simply amazing) hours.

I was able to extensively test Escentric 02 thanks to our dear Parfumo "Zirkeltanz," and I want to express my sincere thanks for the decant.

We hadn't seen each other for 1.5 weeks, which is how it goes when you work in palliative care and sometimes for 3 days straight.

You simply have no energy left and just want to sleep, which I can completely understand.

But there are also free days, and on one of those days, I had previously applied Escentric 02.

Freshly sprayed, Escentric 02 suggests freshly washed laundry that has been washed with gin detergent; they could really make that, in my opinion :-)

Fresh, herbal, also lemony and totally clean and pure, the scent comes across, and right from the beginning, I perceive something that is hard to put into words.

When two people are in love, they can famously smell each other very well; Escentric 02 supports this to an extent that is hardly imaginable.

In the background, the song "Straight to Number One" by Touch and Go was playing when I entered the apartment.

It was equipped with large, small, black, white, and red burning candles.
Light was unnecessary; it was bright enough, and the candles created a very pleasant, cozy atmosphere.

"Well, my heart," I was greeted with a kiss, and we sat down on the large gray high-pile carpet and toasted together with a nice glass of wine.

The scent was noticed, and I was looked at with a gaze that can only be expressed as:

Desire :-)

We certainly enjoyed that thoroughly.

We had the slowest yet most intense sex of our lives, which may of course be due to the fact that we hadn't seen each other for 1.5 weeks, that we simply love each other, but I believe that Escentric 02 contributed its part to it.

I then tested the scent alone again and after about 2 hours, I had a truly sexy woody note on my skin.

Ambroxan and Hedion were new territory for me; I read extensively about it online, wondering if I had just imagined it, and lo and behold, I found an entry that doesn't quite describe it as intensely as we experienced it, but is close.

Escentric 02 is definitely going on my wish list.
