Cleanliness plus!
Yes, I am one of those perfumas who don't always necessarily want to smell perfumed. I also like it when I just have a delicate touch of "Pollita" around me and nothing more. Not a scent that immediately fills the room, that is immediately recognizable as a perfume, that suits me very often. A subtle woody scent can fulfill that, a light, bright incense scent, and of course a musky perfume. Yes, I love delicate musky scents. But among all those on the market, most are just too clean for me, if you get my drift.

There so often you feel like you're standing in a laundry room or a laundry. All the machines and especially the dryers are full to the brim and running hot. Nope, so I do not like to sniff. I like it subtle, delicate, unscented. But, very important, please not too powdery.

Etros Musk fulfills me this desire exactly. Because he smells just not at all like detergent or fabric softener. This is spring magic in a bottle. He starts with bergamot, grapefruit and - one of my meanwhile absolute favorite notes for spring and summer - verbena. A fragrance note that I only got to know and love consciously here on Parfumo. This delicate freshness embeds itself alongside the white musk on very subtle woody notes. Here we have a sandalwood note that I really find indescribably beautiful. No pressboard steamhammer, no cashmeran, just simple soft light wood, no frills at all. It's also a tiny bit floral with a few florets. And guaiac lets a tiny bit of sweetness shine through every now and then, but it's only perceptible if you want it to be. The same goes for the rose. If you don't know it, you won't notice it. That's what makes a round composition for me. Nothing bites, nothing scratches, nothing stings. A fragrance that you can always and everywhere wear and that just leaves a pleasant feeling on the skin.

Etro Musk will definitely move in with me. So a slightly tart-fresh fellow, which has fully deserved the predicate "cleanliness plus", I'm still missing in my collection next to the lovely sweet Muschio of SMN and the rather bright white and yet vanilla-tinged Silver Musk by Nasomatto.

Thank you, my dear Heikeso, for grabbing this one for me. Etro was such a brand, which I had already no longer on the screen, because so far just none could convince me. Well. Musk has shown me that this can change in a flash. And now I'm going to order....

Favorite Musk
No, this fragrance is not spectacular, if by that you mean fierce longevity, sillage, development, projection, etc. He is linear after a little less than an hour, and he is almost from the beginning close to the body.
The innovation trophy is also narrowly missed, one does not feel that the individual components have now never smelled.
But the clear, stringent, unexcited execution of the musk theme is still spectacularly successful for me. Now musk is a wide field, so it must first be narrowed down WHICH musk is to be found here: no oriental, no real anyway and also no sultry-floral. But a matte-salty, skin, wind and waves similar light green-grey air musk, which conjures the smell on my skin in the middle of the city, which the skin takes after a windy day at the sea. The subtle woody-fresh undertone is reminiscent of Bvlgari's "Pour homme", the opening of the bergamot in "Oolang Infini" by Atelier Cologne. And the tea that both fragrances mentioned have in common, Musk kind of has that too. Almost reassured me that this note has been mentioned here below before...
For one, as is often the case with musk, Musk is then quite perceptible, albeit in waves and not consistently. And for anyone very close to you, too. I like it that way.
For me, Musk manages to do what I find so rare in musky scents: a perfect symbiosis with the skin into a soapy, citrusy, fluffy cool sea foam aroma. Absolutely addictive.

Musky soap dream? Yeah, it's real!

I am still looking for an Etro fragrance to use under Vicolo Fiori. Vicolo is a beautiful floral scent with a (to me too strong) vanilla note. That's why I'm currently trying the "pure" basic scents of Etro: "Ambra", "Musk" and "Patchouli".
"Musk" starts like many Etros, with a surge of citrus - in this case bergamot, grapefruit, verbena. So with a slightly bitter component, which I like very much. The slightly citrus tang remains and continues to accompany the fragrance as a delicate touch. Actually the fragrance should be called "Musk-Sandalo", because sandalwood gives the equal partner to musk.
The fragrance is very unagitated, clean, straightforward and elegant. A small sandalwood box containing a love letter delicately perfumed with musk, a bouquet of a single white rose and three lilies of the valley. A wonderful clean scent, not animalistic, not heavy, not sweetishly opulent, but delicate, skin-tight. I can imagine to put it on after a bath in the evening, if I want to prolong this fresh and bathed feeling.
For me, the fragrance is surprising, because Musk always makes me think immediately of musk bombs of the 80s: What did I suffer from the choice of perfume of some of my colleagues, who, with a blatant overdose, took up all the air in the tiny office...
"Musk" by Etro is a completely different type of musk. Restrained, noble and clean-soapy. I find him solo very, very beautiful - whether he really fits under Vicolo Fiori - or whether the vanilla doesn't butcher him, I must test separately at the next opportunity!

"That's a wonderful nothing you've almost got on!" ...
... is a saying from a James Bond movie, which I have memorized (for whatever reason).

Actually, I was yes to reduce my collection, which certainly has something to do with now over a year Corona. There is simply a lack of opportunities to apply fragrances in the sense that you can also expect a reaction from outside! ;-)

If one is however again in the topic, one falls for this quite fast again ... so I at least! :-) Musk I have actually always liked, but there is yes the iron fine and the animalic variant of it. Here we are clearly dealing with the former. On the other hand, I got myself Narciso Rodriguez For Him as an EDP, composed by the great master Francis Kurkdjian. This is almost a touch too animalic for me then (see my review). Perhaps musk as the main fragrance note for the "gentleman" is also truly difficult to act!?

In any case, Etro Musk has clearly won against Acca Kappa Muschio Bianco, which is still a lot more weak-breasted. The outer packaging of Etro Musk are great (but of course only play a supporting role) and the flacons are at least classically cute. With the first spray, I remembered that I had tested Lalique White and Armani White before. Here the DNA was quite similar: fresh, clean, fine and summery, without drifting too much in the aquatic-citrus direction, which I also appreciate, but which is already overrepresented in my collection.

About the scent itself: I do not think that anyone can find fault with it, who showers daily! ;-) Sure may come again these sorry shower gel comparisons, but unlike toilets or glass cleaner shower gel is also meant for the skin! So it's more a compliment for the shower gel if it smells like an EDT than a bad report for the perfume, isn't it? ;-) I can understand this comparison to a certain extent then, if the Sillage only skin close fails and the durability approx. 2-3 hours does not exceed.

Unfortunately, this is also the case with Etro Musk, of which one should be aware. Even a few more sprays hardly change anything. Apart from that, one acquires a gender-neutral summer fragrance, about which I can say nothing bad. Maybe it does even better on clothes than on skin, but you might not want to spend your money for that!? BTW: The sandalwood appearing in heart and base notes is perceptible to me only in traces.

Around 60 euros for 50 ml seem appropriate only for freshness fans who want to do without aquatic synthetics and who a "touch of pleasantly refreshing purity" as a fragrance is enough. Let's say in conclusion that it is here rather a cologne that after all never stings the nose, in no way reminiscent of cologne and with which no one will ever turn up their nose

Ode to fondness
Scent of affection, scent of thoughtful discussions, scent of unidentifiable amiability... that is in MUSK. I am truly amazed by this unique and dear fragrance.

Verbena + gaiac - they are doing miracle here. Gaiac is a magical word for me. I can not identify it, when I smell, I just know, that I want that fragrance - and it is the same good feeling in me when a perfume has dominant gaiac amongst the notes. It does not seem to be wood or flower or an earthy note. If dark-yellow or brown citruses would exist, then gaiac would that be. I think, if someone would like to experience this note, the best choice is Gaïac by Micallef.

In MUSK it is mixed with herbal notes, that makes it even more fascinating!

Later on the scent tends to be a gaiac-cedarwood mix, not sweet, not flowery at all, rather unisex than at the beginning. Even if you overdose it (of course I tried), it will not turn to a raving lunatic, it stays a skin-fragrance, but gets more herbal gravity.

A slight metallic end showes presence of musk, and that is all. I would suggest to rename this creation.
