Great fresh and floral scent with a hint of unpleasant synthetic notes
I received Golden Eyes last week through a sharing from a nice Parfumo. Of course, I was very curious about this Floraïku, as the brand has always had very mixed fragrances for me. Golden Eyes falls somewhere in between. The scent didn't really convince me, but I'm also not averse to it. For me, there is a conflict between mediocre and good.
The following notes I can identify in Golden Eyes: bergamot, pepper, black tea, woods (I couldn't distinguish here), patchouli, vetiver, and leather. Overall, it creates a fresh and slightly floral composition with a soft leather note. I find the floral aspect very interesting because the notes don't indicate this direction. Unfortunately, there is a consistently slightly disturbing synthetic note in Golden Eyes. I don't know exactly what synthetic note is causing this. Without this synthetic element, the scent would be a solid 9-point fragrance for me.
The longevity is in a good to very good range of 9-10 hours. The sillage is rather moderate, always just under an arm's length, and after 6-7 hours, it's very close to the skin.
Unfortunately, Golden Eyes falls a bit short of its potential; without this synthetic note, the fragrance would have been a potential purchase candidate. As it stands, it remains just a solid, inconsequential scent for me that doesn't disturb but also couldn't evoke a WOW effect.
