Parfum Parcours
For me, this perfume is abstract and synthetic through and through. I do not mean that in a derogatory way, but in such a way that it is composed of isolated scents which I cannot assign to certain plants or natural substances. Here, the fragrance pyramid is exposed as pure fiction, as a scaffolding on which the imagination can hang along. Better still: chasing after the Night Wisps, playing Traceur.
The scent begins with cannon salvos and frightens me with its noise and smoke. Then it is light and dark for a while: citric lightning flashes down against a peaty coked background. Later, resin drops and smoke threads appear on a sweetish background. There are three layers that interpenetrate and mix here and there, alternating between soft, ethereal, biting, austere and sweet, depending on what or which mixture comes to the surface. After a few hours - the duration varies - the weight evaporates and dissolves.
So how do I like the whole thing? There is no doubt that "Feu Follet" is the work of a perfumer who understands his craft, and therefore his art (techne - ars). But for me this perfume is something that I only look at and not experience, it only touches my mind, not my mind. It's a construct like a dynamic physical model, but that's nothing to smell. "Feu Follet" seems like a nonsensical perfume to me. On the other hand - or because of that? - it is too exhausting for me, because from the type I am rather the leisurely flâneur than the nimble Traceur.
No evaluation possible.
