Fruit sorbet with Brainfreeze
A start of hard, overdrawn, exuberant, overripe, massive mango. Right in the face. But that's what a fruit needs in order not to sink too quickly.
It is very clearly recognizable here for a long time and does not get lost in insignificance and dominates the fragrance.
The fruit is joined by coolness over time. And where spice and resins were supposed to take over at some point, the effect of the mango overdose is now apparent. It slowly turns into a liqueur lying on wood.
The spiciness that comes through has mothball vibes in my opinion. Edgy but not pleasing. Magical.
I can't deny that the progression and expression are exciting. I just have the feeling that the brand's target group expected something different here. I definitely notice an approximation of the courage Borntostandout has in combining contradictory elements.
And actually, I don't think the mothball mango liqueur is wrong at all and will happily use the two samples I have. But that will be enough. i like Black Mango more.
