That's the beauty of perfumes - you can really enjoy how they are perceived by others. I still perceive the top note as not "Contradictory - but good." Instead, it's "Daring and lost." Unharmonious. But my sample is over five years old. Are we even talking about the same scent? Who's to say that Galimard hasn't subtly adjusted the fragrance over the years?
Glad you like it!

This scent from the high-end Collection Privée of the house plays with contradictions. Oud is not listed, and jasmine, the noble flower from Grasse, is intertwined with other flowers - rose, freesia, and iris, which I can't really pick out - as well as a synthetic green note and, on the other hand, fine sweet notes of honey and heliotrope. Then amber, a hint of tobacco, and musk soften and creamify the herbal and floral aspects. I find this quite interesting and a dynamic play that keeps the fragrance from leaning in one direction. I think it's bold, but well done, and it leaves me puzzled. I like it.

The bottle has now turned a brownish-gold like the others.

Beautiful notes, maybe a bit too soft for me...

It's quite bitter as well. As I said, it plays with the nuances and definitely polarizes here too.
